Hey all,

 

I've got a mod I've been tinkering with for some time and I'm thinking to publish it—trouble is, I've never published a mod before so I'm not sure how that works exactly.

 

I tried to use GitHub once and it frustrated me so that I vowed never to use it again, but hosting mods on GitHub is considered best practice and I don't want to rely on something like Dropbox. So ... anybody's up for hosting my mod on their GitHub?

If anybody's generous enough to do that, I'll draft up a readme and we'll take it from there.

Even if SHS has ability to host you mod, I cannot suggest it since the site has no active admin and who knows what it will happen in the future. So where you should host your mods? It depends. If you mod is 'fire and forget" only, you might want to use DropBox. If this is something like NPC where you plan to provide updates, GitHub might be better choice. But it's tricky mostly because it's not an 'upload files' site. Even if someone "upload" your mod there for you, he will need to do every time when you will update the mod.

How about adding your mods to SHS downloads here? Then, with Gwendolyne's approval, we can backup them on SHS GitHub for you.

Andrea, if you want to be hosted at SHS GitHub account, there is no problem. All you have to do is to register and create a personal account. Then PM me your account name, and I will give you all rights to handle tout mods.
