I've installed both games (traditional verson, from GOG, and into C:games/ dir)

I get to this:

The file 25Movies.bif is missing in your BGII - SOA\CD5\movies directory.

The file exists in C:/Games/BGII - SOA/data/movies

I tried creating that dir. and moving it into there but no luck.

Help?

Well, I'm not an expert, but did you check if you have these lines in your baldur.ini file:

HD0:=D:\Games\BGII - SoA\
CD1:=D:\Games\BGII - SoA\English\;D:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD1\
CD2:=D:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD2\;D:\Games\BGII - SoA\English\;D:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD2\
CD3:=D:\Games\BGII - SoA\English\;D:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD3\
CD4:=D:\Games\BGII - SoA\English\;D:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD4\
CD5:=D:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD5\

The paths will of course differ dependent on where you have the game installed.

Good call.  I checked, and they all were...\data\

I changed them to be as the above, but my installer still has the same error.

Did you already try to copy that file to C:\Games\BGII - SOA\CD5\, so that its full path is C:\Games\BGII - SOA\CD5\25Movies.bif ?

That path doesn’t even exist. I created that folder path and moved it in there to see if that worked, but it didn’t

Silly question: are you actually running the BWP installer from the BGII - SoA directory?

Actually, no, just from a separate folder.  Do I need to run the installer from the SoA directory specifically?

Yes, it's *very* clearly stated in the BWP guide. The Install, text and fix packs must be unzipped directly inside the BGII - SoA directory, and the installer .bat needs to be executed directly from there.

@DivideBy0

Wow, I myself would probably never thought about THAT. Heh, sometimes the most obvious / easiest solutions are the right ones. :)

AH!  I was still using my old info for install instructions (silly me).  I see it now, thank you!

So that fixed it.

Further questions:

Prior, There was a GUI that let you fine tune what mods to download and install.  Currently all I'm seeing is the command prompt.  The first set of options begins with the 'Settings' prompt, asking if I want to run the whole installation unattended until the end, or pause at mods with several components to select manually....

How do I get past this to the GUI that lets me select what mods I want to download and install?

I assume you're referring to BWS (Big World Setup), which was discontinued almost three years ago. There's no GUI for BWP (and there's no need for one, the setup procedure for the mods installation is pretty streamlined!).

Ah yes.  I thought the two were the same.

Which pre-selection is best for me if I want BGT, as many fixes as possible, and a general smattering of balanced extra content?
