I've been trying to set up a Megamod lately (after the last one was lost with the rest of my old HDD, which sucked because it was an actually functional 'all you can get' configuration). There have been a bunch of issues I ran into as forewarned, but I've got one that doesn't have anything to do with mod conflicts or anything like that.
@Leonardo, this isn't so much a bug report as a question - does PofQ absolutely need the Fixpack treatment in its current form?
For whatever reason, the Big Word Fixpack appears to break the Paladins of Faerun mod during Installation.
Regardless of anything else, this is always a staple of the early installation process:
[PoFQuestPack/english/SETUP-PoFQuestPack.tra] LEXER ERROR at line 979 column 1-7
Near Text: ~
invalid character [~]
[PoFQuestPack/english/SETUP-PoFQuestPack.tra] ERROR at line 979 column 1-7

Parsing.Parse_error
ERROR: parsing [PoFQuestPack/english/SETUP-PoFQuestPack.tra]: Parsing.Parse_error
ERROR: problem parsing TP file [POFQUESTPACK/SETUP-POFQUESTPACK.TP2]: Parsing.Parse_error
The closing [~] character seems to be missing from some patched files, along with huge chunks of the content that was supposed to be in three specific files.
I don't know if it's just me or what, but I've been looking through the fixpack folder for it and everything seems to be made up of patches to .tra files. I ASSUME this means that the BiG World fixpack only attempts some fixes to the English translation in places. Unfortunately, the three files render the mod impossible to install. PF0025.tra and PF1234.baf have proven admittedly easy enough to solve by copy-pasting the content of the original files in place of what is missing after Fixpack is done with them. The patching seems to break off and leave the files half-empty when the patcher encounters the word 'Faeríàn' (an alternate spelling of Faerun, which is easy enough to change in the doing too).
Unfortunately, the patcher also breaks the SETUP-PoFQuestPack.tra file. Fixpack alone doesn't appear to mess with it, but it creates the SETUP-PoFQuestPack.tra.rej file, and when the Install.bat later does whatever it does, it cuts the SETUP-PoFQuestPack.tra from 119 kb to around 36-50kb at most (so it cuts off more or less after line 876 or so that the .rej file patches in somehow). The same phenomenon seems to be responsible for the other two files.
My question is this: since I did manage to get an unpatched PoFQuestPack to install AND the rest of the 'All You Can get' Big World to complete successfully afterwards (before I scrapped that configuration for unrelated reasons), does this mean it's really all about spelling and grammar and such? So I could, in theory, just remove the PF0025.tra.patch, PF1234.tra.patch and SETUP-PoFQuestPack.tra.patch from the fixpack subfolder before I run fixpack? Or even exclude it from going through Fixpack entirely? In which case the worst I can expect is some Czech or Cyrillic spelling and grammar here and there?
Or will it mess up my dialog.tlk file in horrifying ways?
