Oops, since the FW reorganisation this probably belongs in the Modder's Room - moving it there. :)

Why does everyone start to make gay/lesbian mods these days?

Heya,

Well, here's a small sample flirt-bit.

(You felt as though you were being watched--you instinctly turned to where you thought it was coming from, only to peer into Dante's azure eyes)
Dante: oh... hello... <Charname> (he ducked his head as he turned away suddenly -- if you didn't know better, you would swear that he was blushing!)

Erm.. No offence, but you should be using present tense not past tense... Since you are describing what the player sees as they see it, not describing what they saw after they saw it... (ie: You need to write like a DM. :P)

If that makes sense at all. :)

..an unfair question, not everyone is making bi/gay mods. The Fridge would entertain this question better, regardless. ;)

I only know of two gay mods and one lesbian mod. Hardly "everyone."

Bisexuality seems to be the foundation of many recent romanceable character concepts. I know there are three straight female characters a male player character can romance in Baldur's Gate 2 already, but I'm surprised Tashia is the only unofficial addition to this line up.

Tashia and Kiara I mean. What I mean to say is there are quite a few straight romance mods already, so I'm not surprised modders are exploring other concepts.

The past-tense is my Fan-fic writerism that is kicking in (where Present Tense is almost unheard of) - so I would need a beta in that sense.

As for the mod -- I did not create my character Dante to be gay (Dante was originally a character for a series of fantasy RPGs that takes place over AIM/Chat), he started to evolve as his own character as many of my 'keeper characters' (the ones I continued to play with after three sessions) tended to do, and started to take on his own traits that surprised even me -- the preference to men was one of them, and a kind of childish obsession with unicorns another (Nothing like Sliverstar and her sheep I swear!).

Some of you may think it's weird that a character can surprise it's creator, but I am sure any hardcore writer or role-player can see where I am coming from.

Either that, or I am quite the schizophrenic.

And as the character stands now, his sexuality -- though repressed by a rather low libido and other priorities is too much of a facet of him and removing it to me is like removing Kivan's grief for his beloved -- it completely changes the character.

"Do you know how much that turns me on, Ki?"
"Maxi! I'm trying to be serious here!" -- Maxi and Kilik

My characters do that to me all the time. I think I have them worked out, and then they go and develop a personality of their own. My most recent character started out as a quiet, shy elf. He's now a chaotic evil sarcastic pyromanical mage.

Either that, or I am quite the schizophrenic.

Schizoid, in my case. Nearly schizophrenic. I may hear voices in my head, but I know they're not real.

Anyway, Dante seems to be a very interesting character. I will certainly download him once the mod is done. Maybe I'll actually like having a paladin in my team, for once. And him being an undead hunter will help with all the pesky undead in the game.

I am one of the people who does not like this mod concept.

Only because I was planning on adding a gay paladin npc to the mini-mod I am working on. Guess I will have to do something else. Great job in all seriousness, looking forward to this one.

You can still go for your idea if some of the work has already been done but if not then you could change it if you wanted :)

Ehh... I'll come up with another idea. The main reason I wanted to do the whole "Gay-paladin" bit was I thought it was something that not only had not been done, but something that no one would ever dream of coming up with.

Perhaps I am not as creative as I had thought.

Still going to do the mod, just going to have to come up with some other ideas.

This sounds like a really cool mod - if you've been playing with the char and developing him for a while it should help to make him really believable. I like the edwin script you put up btw - very Edwin

Im still v newbie in how to mod, but if you wanted any help thinking up npc responses or anything i'd be happy to help

A quickie serach indicates the author hasn't posted in these forums since April 22. Is this still being worked on? It sounds really neat. It'd be a shame if it's abandoned.

I think that the project was abandoned. I hope not, cause Dante is gonna be really cool(i just feel so ;]). Many people would like to play this npc mod, but players even dont know if Dante is going to see a daylight. Somebody got any news?

Are you asking this about a mod that hasn't even (technically) started yet?

I was thinking that it technically started:huh: So it means that we gotta wait a little bit longer? :( But why author of this mod isnt postin' here? Is it because he/she is workin' on Dante?
PS I got a lot of stupid questions, don't hate me for that :^^:
