Peace was afoot in the Sword Coast. Villages were rebuilt, and the hordes of evil were routed. The Bhaalspawn were almost forgotten. Egalitarian movements had succeeded in attaining rights for the poor; indeed, an uprising in Baldur's Gate, headed by the Order of the Sceptre, had forced the Dukes to abdicate for twelve days, while the Sceptre were in possession of the city. The peoples of the Sword Coast had pertinently dubbed this new age the Time of Tranquility.

The Time of Tranquility was a fallacy. Heedless of the cunning and artifice of evil, the people of the Sword Coast did not suspect that the powers of darkness were mustering. In their folly, the lords did not listen to the council of sages. Evil was not banished, the sages said. No, it was preordained to return, stronger than ever before!

Few suspected that dragons walked amongst humans, or that minions of undead were gathering in the vaults of the graveyard; that nefarious mages were aspiring to overwhelm the world with their concocted atrocious creatures; that the forces of darkness had social connections in every circle- even in the Council of Six of Athkatla!

One could say that shadows had descended on the Sword Coast.

Module Background Information
- Shadows of the Sword Coast is a new role-playing server, heavy on quests, action, and puzzle solving. We are currently over 500 areas strong. We are building a player base in this competitive scene, and are around 30 players at peak times. We run on a dedicated server at 100mbs. We use the core D&D rules, and have no respawn system. One must be raised via a cleric or scroll. We try to stay true to the core rules as much as possible. We run both expansions, and since we are a hardcore server, our XP is more generous then other servers. This is balanced out by the difficulty of our server. Veteran D&D and NWN players should be pleased by the level of strategy we have worked into our encounters, and this is definitely a server for skilled players and serious role-players. Based on the Forgotten Realms, Shadows of the Sword Coast currently has the following major cities: Waterdeep, Athkatla, Baldur's Gate, Silverymoon, Beregost, Candlekeep, and Cered Nashad in the Underdark. We have two downloads, one is a 60mb hak, the other is 60mb of Music from the Baldur's Gate series for ambiance. We run NWNx2 and are fully persistent.
