I thought that because The Darkside currupted them it also currupted their words :D

I apparently have a high level of empathy, combined with a low level of sympathy... weird

Come to think about it, you've got a point, but a very far-fetched one. Like Vader, when he was turned, he had to fight Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Obi-Wan put him in the lifesupporting suit that also makes him talk like that.

Malak's cheek was cut off (the reason why he talks as he does) by someone (I heard it was Revan). Couldn't that also have something to do with turning?

The others, I don't know about...

Only in fanfic does Revan cut Malak's jaw off.

Would be the most logical tho.

Ok. That explains it.

Would be the most logical tho.

slightly off-topic, why would Revan's eyes turn amber in the game when she went into the DS. Corruption of the DS of the force?

Yeah, the more dark you are the more your eyes glow, skin turns pale and wrinkles up.

I cannot say cool or bad, I'm afraid.

When I first saw the vision on Dantooine Malak appeared as the voice of reason. "We can never go back".

During the game I won the impression that he was not reasoning, but simply having doubts. Maybe a guess that he could become the complete contrary of what he initially wanted and thought to be.

At this point (when I first played), Revan was nothing more than a mysterious and evil Jedi, probably dead, but more probably plotting 'his' return (yes, yes, I had NO idea).

To me Malak became somewhat tragic. Dependant on Revan, unable to resist the lurings of the Dark Side and in Revan's shadow he gets rid of this influence by the only means that are available to him -- treachery and treason. Finally, corrupted, and not strong enough to turn back he faces Revan (Light Side), in harmony with the Force. He's doomed!

I haven't played the Dark Side yet, so maybe my impression will somewhat alter after finishing the game with my female would-be-counselor Hesa Sken who is still roaming around in the Undercity. ;)

Well Malak must of had an amazing amount of dark force energy go through him. The Dark side emodies death and decay and those who follow will feel its effects upon their bodies, while on the light sides is the embodiment of life and goodness and healing, so it would rejuvinate the ones that follow it. Dark Jedi are more like liches while Light Jedi are more like Celestials.

I don't like Malak as a villain at *all*. I mean, to begin with he was pretty kool; all dark and "Go forth and destroy things!!"-ish; but after a while (particularly when I... err... met him in person...) I realised what a... complete wuss he is!

Pfah. He always was second best. <insert maniacal laughter here>

Why does he have to have a "villain's laugh"?

This sounds like some silly cartoon.

I didn't like Malak either. Wasn't he suposed to be all powerfull? Then why was he so weak? I had more problemas defeating some other enemy groups and sith than him.

I liked that bit where you could see him before he got his face hacked off.
Malak always knew what he wanted, Revan didn't know the true power of the Star Forge, it was Malak who found that out so he deserves props for that. Malak realised that having Bastila would make him pretty much invincible, just Revan being alive and wanting to kill him puts a bit of a dampner on his plans, seeing as ol' Revvo could possibly bring Bastila to HIS side with LOVE or Dark Bastila would just want to side with Revan anyway (she admires Revan more I think).

Also, Malak is like 7 foot tall.

Darth Malak rules and is uber cool for a villain, but I reckon that Darth Revan and Darth Bastila has a better ring to it.

"Oh no! It's Darth Revan and Darth Bastila! We're doomed!"

Alright then, they can say "Oh no! The Sith Lords Revan and to a lesser extent Bastila! We're doomed!"

Malak's voice is cool but he's not. Vader's way more cool.
