Does someone have a spell progression chart for the following classes (and doesn't mind posing it here): Druid, Paladin, Ranger

I have heard of many sources claiming Rangers can cast up to level 5 spells and paladins level 6 spells once they reach a level high enough. However various other sources simply state paladins can only cast up to level 4 spells while rangers up to level 3 spells.

The same applied for bards (level 6 spells vs. level 8 spells) until I got an official source claiming that bards may cast up to level 8 spells at a really high level (level 25 or something like that).

So can anyone confirm this?

Also, does anyone have a spell progression chart for bards between level 30 and level 50? So far I have been trying to make everything as close to the official rulebooks, but some parts have been improvised by myself that lacked official material.

Are you looking for 3e, 3.5, or 2e?

The Forgotten Realms have a different (and inflated) progression compaired to standard AD&D 2nd edition. FR advancement goes to level 40 and has higher caps on other level related things.

Non-campaign specific 2nd edtion rules (which I vastly prefer) top out at level 30, or level 20 if you use just the core books.

The following are tables for generic 2E (from Dungeon Master's Option: High Level Campaigns):

All THAC0 progression stops at level 20.

All paladin and ranger spell progression stops at level 20.

Table 44:
Wizard Spell Progression
Lv 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 *
20 5 5 5 5 5 4 3 3 2 1
21 5 5 5 5 5 4 4 4 2 1
22 5 5 5 5 5 5 4 4 3 1
23 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 3 2
24 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 4 2
25 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 2
26 6 6 6 6 5 5 5 5 5 3
27 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 5 5 3
28 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 3
29 7 7 7 7 6 6 6 6 6 4
30 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 6 6 4

Table 46:
Priest Spell Progression
Lv 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 *
20 9 9 9 8 7 5 2 1
21 9 9 9 9 8 6 2 1
22 9 9 9 9 9 6 3 2
23 9 9 9 9 9 7 3 2
24 9 9 9 9 9 8 3 2
25 9 9 9 9 9 8 4 3
26 9 9 9 9 9 9 4 3
27 9 9 9 9 9 9 5 4
28 9 9 9 9 9 9 6 4
29 9 9 9 9 9 9 7 4
30 9 9 9 9 9 9 8 4

Table 52:
Bard Spell Progression
Lv 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
20 4 4 4 4 4 3 — —
21 4 4 4 4 4 4 1 —
22 4 4 4 4 4 4 2 —
23 4 4 4 4 4 4 3 —
24 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 —
25 5 5 4 4 4 4 4 —
26 5 5 5 5 4 4 4 —
27 5 5 5 5 5 5 4 —
28 6 5 5 5 5 5 5 —
29 6 6 5 5 5 5 5 1
30 6 6 6 6 5 5 5 1

The follwing are the charts from FRs "Powers and Pantheons":

Oddly, bard progression is better in the non-camapaign specific charts.

Different worlds often have different progressions.

Thanks for the info

It'all about BG implementation. I think its SP incorrect and i want approximate it for 2e.

The same question about Sorcerer and Druid, in the BG their SP differs from the default wizard\cleric.

Now I patchced 2DAs for SP from "Powers and Pantheons" with the exception of sorcerer and druid. However TACH0 settings left untouched

Should I patch them as default ?
Should I patch TACH0 ?

Just give me alink for src of full 2e docs.

PSS: My english grammar still bad.

You are correct. BG has flat out errors with some of the spell progressions, among other things. I have corrected many of these myself and can link you to what I'm using if you would like to take a look at them.

http://home.rocheste.../Corrected 2DA/

I didn't sort these very well, and some of them I made just ot more closely match pnp not correct errors per se.

The spell progression (esp the wisdom modifier) and thac0 chart where the main things I felt where actuall in error.

hanks oralpain.

It helped me. I think i should patch durid sp after lv20 for the same
values as the cleric.

But why xpcap in all classes is -1, in BG there are different certain values.

There are no exp caps in pnp, though there are level caps in some cases. I just stop clicking level up when that happens.

Nothing wrong if you keep the old one. -1 is just my personal preference.
