Working a bit on banters and lovetalks for Forrest Fentan. For those who have not seen the earlier long-vanished post of introduction. Forrest is a male halfling thief, friendly but professional. A possibility for a same-sex romance is in the works. I have about two notebooks of material, far more than I'll probably use for this.

Early banter with Minsc:
Rationale: Misc in my mind has one of the greatest unrequitted love stories in the game. I've always had the impression going back to BGI that he was smitten with Dynaheir but due to differences in class and intelligence, it was doomed from the start. Unfortunately, the Bioware story puts the loss of Dynaheir an the start and leaves Minsc hanging. This dialog also serves to introduce the bad relationship in Forrest's past. (I'm cutting and pasting out of a tra file here.)

Forrest: ~Why so glum Minsc?~
Minsc:~Minsc has lost his witch. Minsc has lost the bad man that killed his witch. Minsc has lost everything but Boo, and while Boo is many things, Boo can't be witch for Minsc.~
Forrest:~Dynaheir? I'm sorry for your loss. It must be terrible to loose a lover that way.~
Minsc:~Ohh, you misunderstand Minsc little man. Dynaheir was the moon and stars to Minsc. But to Dynaheir, Minsc was just Minsc.~
Forrest:~Oh, yes. I understand that all too well.~
Minsc:~Forrest lost his witch?~
Forrest:~Not a woman Minsc. I like men, and this one is probably better off lost.~

Later banter with Minsc:
Rationale: One of my favorite things about Minsc is his exuberance. I wrote this as the contrast between Misc's over-the-top but oddly playful violence, and Forrest's more reserved approach.

Minsc:~Kick butt!~
Forrest:~Yeah, that will work.~
Minsc:~Boo says Forrest and Minsc make a good team. Minsc cuts off evil's head and Forrest cuts off evil's knees!~
Forrest:~Just don't swing that sword too low Minsc.~

Viconia sequence
Rationale: I'm still trying to figure out Viconia. Just in terms of racial prejudices I think she might see elves and men as being possibly dangerous to her and worth approaching with caution, but halflings and gnomes as races to be dominated. Forrest has a tendency to try to brush off conflict unless directly threatened. In this sequence, Viconia tries to terrify Forrest, without much success.

Viconia:~You know what we do to your kind little morsel?~
Forrest:~No Viconia, but I'm certain you are about to tell me.~
Viconia~Your kind are just the right size to give to our spiders. They can suck you dry without leaving anything to rot.~
Forrest:~That's nice Viconia.~
Viconia:~Of course, you half-men are a bit too fatty, but a few months as slaves usually brings you down to a reasonable size.~
Forrest:~Of course, Viconia.~
Viconia:~The spiders up here on the surface are pathetic compared to the ones that live in the velvety dark, but I can find some that I can feed you to.~
Forrest:~I'm sure you can Viconia.~

Later Viconia sequence
Rationale: Viconia tries to push Forrest around. Forrest at first, is unwilling to give something up without a legitimate trade involved. Viconia pushes back. Forrest's perception of Viconia is that she is not above using threats of violence or sex appeal to manipulate others. After making his point, Forrest offers a peace offering. The thought of charity from Forrest puts Viconia in an even worse mood.

Viconia:~Half-man? My rations are drenched in blood. You will give me yours, won't you?~
Forrest:~What is it worth to you, Viconia?~
Viconia:~What is this? Not even a full male, but a weak half-male surfacer refusing my orders?~
Forrest:~Viconia, I'm neither frightened of you because you are drow. Nor does my taste in bedpartners bend your way.~
Forrest:~You can neither intimidate me, nor manipulate me.~
Viconia:~You decadent, disobedient cur!~ (should probably use a different epithet.)
Viconia:~Not fit to be spider food! I could kill you for your insolence.~
Forrest:You could try. I have the advantage of the sun after all. Here, take half my rations. And the name is Forrest.~
Viconia:~Keep your bread. Better to be hungry than be indebted to the likes of you.~

Viconia's reaction to same-sex romance with Forrest
Rationale: Unfinished. Describing her amusement about a romance with Forrest through the filter of what I see as central to drow sexuality. I also think that Viconia will be incapable of respecting Forrest. This will probably have to be changed if the PC is halfling.

Viconia:~Ohh, you surfacers are decadent, soft and amusing in your own way.~
PC:~What do you mean Viconia?~
Viconia:~Among my kind, some of your sex will take pleasure slaves~
Viconia:~Some will, shall we say, demand tribute from males of lower status.~
Viconia:~But to bed that half-man that is decadent. To profess love for it, that is soft. And to see you two together, is a grotesque comedy indeed.~

I like them.

"Minsc and Boo and Forest, we are a fine team" sounds better to me than "make a good team", but I'm not sure why.

"Iblith" (carrion) may be a better choice than "Cur"

I think the Neither-nor phrase should have a comma, not a period.

Looking forward to the mod. :)

Moving ahead slowly. I've been having cd-rom troubles which is limiting my ability to get things up to play.

Great Job, this will be a fun mod!
