It wouldn't be so that Morrowind is the game with most mods ever? Is there any rival? At least I can't think of a one.

Wolfenstein 3D, Doom (2), Quake 1, Warcraft 2, and Stacraft all have way more mods than Morrowind :). Neverwinter Nights is pretty close too.

Yeah a lot of the mods for morrowind are so small they dont really count as mods (perhaps why they are commonly referred to as plugins)
Anyway, having such a large amount of mods isnt necessarily a good thing, as there is so much junk you have to go through to find the good ones. Much like playstation games (and hence why I far prefer gamecube, but that is a different argument altogether)
Forward he cried from the rear
And the front rank died
And the general sat and the lines on the map
Moved from side to side.

jedi knights 2 and 3 (academy) have alot of mods, most of which are rubbish, warcraft 3 has many (though not as many as warcraft 2 for fairly obvious reasons)
freelancer has quite a few as well but im not sure how many these all have in relation to morrowind, also i would agree with Tom that many morrowind mods are not good, useless if not downright bizzare in a bad way

The PS2 may have too many games (though there are dozens upon dozens of "best PS2 games" lists in various magazines and websites), but the Game Cube doesn't have enough :P.

I believe Freelancer has a ton... used to have a site bookmarked that came out with around 12 a week, most of which added new systems, planets/bases, ships (tons of these, I'm talking hundreds, one replaced every ship in the game with star wars ships), weapons, or augmentations (IE making afterburners go faster). I seem to recall seeing several thousand mods on this one site (Lancers Reactor?)

Do you guys mean starcraft and warcraft MODS or MAPS? Cause each have an unbelievable amount of custom maps. I've literally spent about 10000 hours of my life playing the starcraft maps... wait I don't thing that's high enough...
