yah, Jaheira's Entangle is incredibly useful at level 1.  I just switched Jaheira/Khalid out for Kagain/Tiax and I realized I have no way to control large crowds of monsters anymore.  Well, except for my very own Grease, but I'm a wild mage and my spells never work right anyways :P.  I've so far managed to hit my entire party with Slow, create pretty sparkles, and summon a Gnoll.  But no grease yet.  Maybe I should stop using that Reckless Dweomer?

By the time I got to end of BG! and killing Saervok, I was lvl nine using the mega install.  Thank goodness it does slow your rate of leveling down, as all the added content will give you a lot more xp, and w/o the feature, you'd get really way to poweful for the game.

IF you have played through it before, visit the areas and take the quests that don't require a tons of encounters and can be done with little or no fighting. You can also wander the outer areas around Nashkell, and pick up the random quest, kill the stuff wandering around there as well.  But overall you are going to find all encounters have been stepped up quiet a bit from the origonal, so best advice is save often, and pre plan.  Surprised Will died on you, there are some good, or higher lvl npc's at Nashkill from the Dark Side of the Sword coast mod in Nashkill, which if your party is weak, could be a big help, simply because of their higher level.  Never used them, but did have them join in just to take a look at them, won't talk with your party or anything.  And yes, leaving ppl like Gavin, and Ajantis, and many of the vanilla game npc's dead cut out a lot of what BG 1 NPC mod had to offer heeh.

Protection from Undead scrolls will make the Valens unable to attack.  Use those on your spellcaster and principal fighter at least.

Drizzt does not spawn again unless you CLUA him.  Drizzt Saga character joins your party when you help him with the gnolls.  I think you missed that bus.

TY Hoppy.  That's exactly what I did when I reloaded   .  Sure wasn't expecting it the first  time, so very unprepared.  I had come off fighting the group down there then the Bonehill group, just was caught off balance by this. For some reason had a lot of those scrolls I was carrying around.

I dl'd the BWP of Drizzit Saga, and know it conflicts with the Drizzt saga.  What is the console command to spawn him in, and force join him?  I'll go back out to the lake. Now my party is a lvl nine, I feel like I could participate in it, rather than tag along.

I know erebusant fixed it up, at least his part, I read about what he did, but I've never seen it for download anywhere.  What a great solution and great outcome that was.  I guess that is in the BWP download, but the BGNPC 1 mod messes that up right.  In any case Regis was/is at the lake in my version, I'll have to force join drizzt in to get regis to transport us.

In Topic: what's up with the Invisible stalkers?!

Anyway, does anyone remember the name of the mage who attacks the party upon returning to Nashkill from the mines? I am trying to find him from the list of hundreds of names with no success.

Can you give us more information about him, like where he attacks you, what he says, was he one of the assassins, etc.

Here are some more informations about invísible stalkers.

Greetings Leomar

Well, he attacks me right outside of the Inn in Nashkill. He is one of the assassins and has a letter on him stating that he is hired to kill me. He only appears upon returning from the mines after the iron ore quest.

His name is Nimbul and he is part of the unmodded regular portion of BG 1

This is caused by Drizzt Saga. If it is a bug or if the modauthor deliberately placed this vampires, I can't say...

Greetings Leomar

*laughing* can't seem to play drizzit saga, yet, I gonna see if he shows up as per Jarnos now that I've killed Saervok, but the vampires do   .  And further more they are all named, Valen, almost as hard as the end game fight, cause those four Valens were awfully uber, luckily vampires as a whole, not all that bad IF you can pre prepare.  That uber mace you got in Dark Side of the Sword Coast, unashamedly saw heavy use on Gavin's part also ... ....

Good thing I have the feature that cuts your xp in half!  At first leary of installing that, I was so glad I did, I finished out part one at a lvl nine, IMHO feels about right, but each Valan even at half the xp was 2500 each, wow think about that times four.

@ LadyRolePlay

It looks like that no much gamers know something about the Vault to answer your questions or have the time to answer, yet. I've seen your questions about your problems in another forum, too. Be patient, perhaps someone can answer your question in the future. :(

But thanks for your long report, so we get an insight of The Vault. :)

Greetings Leomar

I am crashing to desktop trying to enter the temple for the final fight.

IS there a fix and if there is exactly what do I need to do! I can't finish BG 1 as is. I saw a lot of discussion, but no fix for this in such a way that I understand what to do. As best I can tell there was discussion on two issues, one of this and one on Tales of the Sword Coast. Will porting the party to the area fix it, or do I need to set globals or what?

Please someone help me so I can play on, if possible. That it's the Vault doesn't help much now, what if anything can I do?

ty

You need to repair your AR7225.BCS file in the manner indicated here http://www.shsforums...showtopic=37363# Just remove the offending block from the bcs file.

ty for taking the time to pointing me which fix to try, I'll do it tonight when I get home from work :) .

Can I ask for help here again please? I am no coder and still confused with what to do.

AS best I can tell from the posts the following is the problem and the block remover:

IF
OnCreation()
Global("SarevokBehavior","GLOBAL",1)
THEN
RESPONSE #100
SaveGame(0)
Continue()
END
Looks like this is due to the Continue() and the StartMovie() in the following block. Removing either will solve the issue.
But this block should be reworked anyway, since after loading the saved game it will simply save it again.

SO what I should do in Near Infinity is go to the appropriate area BCS, find the above entry then go to the entry following that and remove either the Continue () and or the Start Movie()? I know almost nothing about this stuff, by 'remove the block' you mean, delete out one or both of those two using NI?

ty

Remove all of this block and compile and save the bcs file.
IF
	Global("MissionPackSave","GLOBAL",0)
	Global("MissionPackSave1","GLOBAL",0)
THEN
	RESPONSE #100
		SetGlobal("MissionPackSave1","GLOBAL",1)
		TextScreen("toscst")
		ActionOverride(Player1,LeaveAreaLUAPanic("ARU000","",[3048.831],4))
		ActionOverride(Player1,LeaveAreaLUA("ARU000","",[3048.831],4))
		ActionOverride(Player2,LeaveAreaLUA("ARU000","",[3055.917],4))
		ActionOverride(Player3,LeaveAreaLUA("ARU000","",[2990.913],4))
		ActionOverride(Player4,LeaveAreaLUA("ARU000","",[2992.812],4))
		ActionOverride(Player5,LeaveAreaLUA("ARU000","",[3079.737],4))
		ActionOverride(Player6,LeaveAreaLUA("ARU000","",[3005.742],4))
		Continue()
END

Erebusant,

Just a quick post to say thank you very much for taking the time to point out exactly what I needed to do. I also wanted to let you all know that, I also wound up having to set that Sarevok global to 0 as well.

With just the above fix, the game would completely save, but then crash out again. I pretty sure it was crashing out after the save or right after it was done. For me, I found I had to do both. I hope this helps you all a bit, and once again, thank you.

One more quick thing, out of curiosity I decided to go back to the ducal palace as well, though I will go on to play tales of the sword coast, I wanted to see what happened.

The scene there starts up, all the bg 2 stuff, right to where one is cutting to the Irenacus dungeon. There was no Iomen, or scripted play through there, where she comes to your cage and where your character is being experimented on. I don't know whether that's supposed to be the case.

But the thing was, I was supposed to be alone, but I had had Gavin in my party at the end game of one, and so he was showing also, then the game promptly crashed out.

If I can be any help there let me know, I would think the obvious solution though, is to see the the guy at the Ducal palace, by one's self :). It's two am my time (I get off work at midnight), I'll try doing the same run to the palace w/out any party members, see if all loads and fires off like it's supposed to and let you know.
