a couple of issues when installing BWP

09 February 2012 - 12:46 PM

1. The "Improved Xvart village" component of BPv180 gets skipped automatically because it doesn't detect BGT. I believe this is because some things changed with bif-files between BGT 1.12 and 1.14, but I cannot seem to find the thread where I read something about this. Anyway, looking in the BP tp2, it looks like the component searches for BGTCRE.bif in the data folder, which apparently isn't there anymore. Until this gets fixed in either BP, BGT or by a BWP fix, could I just create a mock file called BGTCRE.bif in the mentioned directory before installation? I mean, is that enough or does the installation somehow need the actual BGTCRE.bif file?

2. The very next BPv180 component, the Level-50 ruleset by King Diamond, also failed to install. This has installed fine previously so I am not sure what the problem may be now. Here's the error message:

Appending to files column-wise ...

Any idea what this CLABPA01.2DA business is all about? Like I said, it has installed fine before and I'm not sure what I've changed since then that could cause this.

Refinements HLA-component and kitted multi-class characters

02 February 2012 - 01:23 PM

Hi thebigg,

As you may know, there is (and has been for a long time) an incompatibility between the HLA component of Refinements and Lvl1NPCs, if in the latter mod you assign a kit to a multi-class character. For instance, if you were to turn Stivan into a fighter/bounty hunter using Lvl1NPCs, the game would crash when he was able to select his first HLA.

I'm wondering if it wouldn't be possible to solve this incompatibility somehow in the Refinements mod?

Kova, Kiyone and Lvl1NPCs

Hello, Zyraen!

Would it be alright with you to add Kova and Kiyone to Lvl1NPCs? I'm in the process of rounding up permissions from a number of NPC mod creators whose NPCs are not yet included, trying to make the list as inclusive as possible. I also understand that Miloch asked you previously about this? Please note that Lvl1NPCs doesn't change any of the character of your NPCs. It's just to allow the player some flexibility in choosing kits and/or proficiencies. See this post for some more information.

Editing BWP's install.bat

29 January 2012 - 03:27 AM

Hoping someone can help me with this:

I'm editing the install.bat for my own use, which mostly has worked fine when just changing or adding components. However, when adding new mods, I'm having some problems. In the "BiG World Installpack readme", it says that changing %INST% to %INSTQ% would then pause the installation at that point and let you manually choose which components to install. Well, it pauses, and shows a language selection, but no matter what I try to type ("E", "English", "0", etc), after pressing Enter it just says "no language selected, skipping mod" or something like that. This has been the case for every mod I've tried among those not so far included in BWP (mostly ones newer than the latest BWP release).

If anyone could explain what I need to do to actually get to choose components manually at install time, I would very much appreciate it.
