Question about Leviathan

21 April 2005 - 10:43 PM

So I have almost finished my first game, and did not manage to trigger the Carth romance obviously (playing LS). I have read several forums and topics concerning this, but have not found any clues to this:

so Leviathan is supposed to happen after the third star map? That then means that if you want to romance Carth you'll have to do Korriban before it? This is the impression I got from some discussion board I read, that you'll have to have done Carth's son quest before Leviathan.

Other question, is there any must choices in Leviathan for the romance to continue? If I let Saul torture Carth, will it kill the romance?

Would it be a good choice not to try to do every NPC's sidequests to be able to finish those you really want to? Because I had no possibility to do Juhani's quest, because Xor came in Korriban the first time, and I had already done everything before that, there was only the trip to the Star Forge system ahead. And yes, I talked to her all the time.

Problem with graphics

17 April 2005 - 12:10 AM

I don't know if there is anyone here that can help, because I have the Mac version of the game and probably it has it's own issues and bugs (?), but this thing is quite annoying.

There was nothing wrong while in Taris, the problem begun on Dantooine. Almost always when we were out there there were these large black areas on the ground. And when you run over them they turn to normal. So it is as if the program couldn't find the right texture or something and so there is only black. This also seems to affect the movement, the character on lead gets frozen and can't stop moving in this frozen state, and keeps "jumping" around the map uncontrolled. I even turned the grass option off, but it had no affect on this. This happens especially on Matale and Sandral grounds and sometimes when we get otu of the Ebon Hawk the surroundings are all black mostly only outlines showing.

Same thing on Tatooiine.

I have tried to fix the graphic settings, it makes no difference if I have the best quality or not, I have the only patch available for Mac version (which really didn't have that many fixes) and the mod which helps me fight those nasty fighters between planets.

Some technical facts about our Mac if it is any help:
iMac 1.6 GHz with MacOS X 10.3.something, videocard NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra with 64 MB DDR SDRAM with AGP 8x support (is there anything more I should tell?).

KOTOR for sale for the highest bidder...

14 April 2005 - 01:18 PM

Just when I begun really enjoy the game there has to be this brain killing stupid mini-game which keeps me from ketting off the stupid planet

I have never ever been good at this kind of games, I always got killed in Decent 1, and never bothered much with it after I found out that my fingers just wont keep up with everything and my eyes just can't see what they are supposed to see to keep me alive. And if I'll have to learn to play such games only to be able to continue KOTOR, I am not pleased at all. I want to enjoy my gaming experience and not to go over one and zillion times some turret shooting scene to be able to do so.

Aren't there really any cheats I could use to jump over this darn thing? I didn't find any while searching over all those cheat sites for the game, nor anything from the Bioware discussion board either. Everyone just seem to expect that everyone is willing to learn how to do this, and that everyone is ABLE to learn how to do this. Well I have only mouse and keyboard to use and my motor skills aren't that great, in fact they are a disaster! That is why I paly RPGs on computer, and not any other kind of games. I guess I should never ever have purchased KOTOR, I should have found out beforehand that there are sections in it I am not able to cope with. Now I am forced to stop to play the game because of that totally unnecessary peace of carbage.

Sorry guys but I am pissed off.

Yeah, and this was about leaving from Tarsis scene where you are supposed to shoot those fighters to zillion pieces, unless someone didn't guite get it.

NPC mod: Human female priest

16 August 2004 - 10:25 AM

Something that came to my mind the other day, when I was poundering which priest should I take along with the group this time...

Please be kind, this is the first ever NPC I have been writing this far

Miella (pronounced Me-ellah, el as in elder, la as in Las Vegas)

Human
Neutral Good
Priest of <god?s name here> - I'll have to go through the gods a bit, I guess (any help appreciated)

STR 14
DEX 15
CON 13
INT 9
WIS 18
CHA 14

(Total: 83)

When asked about her past, Miella states that there is nothing peculiar about it (or her). She is one of the daughters of a wealthy merchant from Trademeet. Her parents still reside there, and she has two older sisters and a younger brother. Her sisters are married and they go-own a small jewelry shop, and her brother is following the footsteps of their father and will hopefully take over his business someday.

Even as a young girl Miella knew she would want to worship <god?s name here>. Her parents weren?t thrilled at first, but at the time she became old enough to decide over her own life, they couldn?t stop her from choosing a path to become a priest of <god?s name here>. They accepted the fact, and supported their daughter?s decision.

Miella is very affectionate person, who loves her parents and siblings dearly. She is also very much dedicated worshipper of <god?s name here>, and she is also very loyal to her friends. Her basic character is calm and supporting, but when she has enough reason, she can be fierce. This is mostly due to either someone mocking her god or misusing her trustful nature. She is the one who will be the first to give a shoulder to cry on, if it is needed.

There will possibly be a sideguest concerning her brother, and a minor guest about her sisters? jewelry shop and/or their children. And knowing myself, there might be a romance, either with the PC or someone else... (nothing decided yet).

Miella?s reaction toward few of the original NPCs

Minsc: Miella will like Minsc, because he is so straightforward and honest. And because he has Boo ;) - Miella used to have a pet rabbit when she was a child.

Mazzy: Miella knows Mazzy by reputation, but has never actually met her before. She will usually like Mazzy, but she thinks she is a bit too much into this paladin thing. In Miella?s opinion one must be humble while serving one?s god. She admire?s Mazzy?s dedication, though.

Valygar: Miella values Valygar?s quiet disposition and his knowledge of nature. She doesn?t share his views over magic though, and tries to persuade him to think of it more positively.

Anomen: Miella feels sorry for this poor man, who?s father has kind of abandoned him and whose mother has died. She does kind of understand his pompous attitude, she thinks it is due to his traumatic childhood. She will have couple of serious conversations with him, though maybe she tries to understand him too much at times...

Nalia: Usually Miella will get along with Nalia guite well, though she feels that it is her duty to guide her in dangers of the world and to point her to the right direction.

Cernd: Miella is appalled by the thing that Cernd has abandoned his wife, and that he didn?t even knew he had a son, though she will say few words about his wife as well, because she thinks that she should have told Cernd about her pregnancy. Otherwise she can?t quite understand Cernd?s long sentences and often complicated language.

Korgan: Miella doesn?t get along with Korgan. He will propably mock her church and god at some point, and there might be consequences.

Edwin: Miella thinks that Edwin is too bright for his own good, and that reading too much will someday become his doom...

Haer?dalis: For some reason Miella finds Haer?dalis guite likeable person, even though he is a bit too flamboyant and dandy sometimes. But he makes Miella laugh.

I will think of more reactions later on.

Timestop

07 August 2004 - 11:12 PM

I wonder, has anyone made a mod that corrects the thing with the timestop spell, that when it is cast, and you can't do anything, your protection spells still wear off? I mean, if time would really stop for the party, wouldn't it stop for the spells also? Or have I got it all wrong...

But anyhow, that would be a great tweak and very much appreciated (at least by me).

(And I know there is SConrad's Timestop tweak somewhere, but I don't need to get rid of the spell, I just would like it to be not so cheesy).
