In Topic: Do I have to reinstall with each new version?

I mean a total reboot recreating the engine, game, everything from the ground up.  I have read too many negative things about the BGEE versions of 1 and 2.  Plus one magazine said what I had thought, that you can get the mods that do about the same thing if not better and it won't have as many bugs or issues.   Think PC Gamer said that when the 1st one came out.

Back to the "10 Steps/programs to install".  When I read the docs I notice there was a great deal of incompat between certain mods and how one mod would create a change in another and so on.  About 2 or 3 years ago I had given the BP a try.  However it was more failure on my end than success.  Was sad I couldn't get it to work, but I knew it was something I was doing wrong and that nothing was wrong with BP.  So I stuck with BG2 + Exp + The Darkest Day and BG1 + Exp + The Dark Side of the Sword Coast.

Yes, I would love to add many of the other mods but since I am not fully into the mod/weidu picture thing, most of this is above my head.  I only this past month for example installed the Freespace Open Source Project.  It was like the BP in complexity for installing for me (I had the retail versions of the games and wanted to push my graphic card more than it was).  The problem was having to know certain commands needed to be started at certain places and files moved here and there.  When I checked back in about a month ago they had created an installer package, that installed the current version of the Open Source, with all the mods, etc, and configured it just right to play.

I quickly read over the FAQ page for BWS/BWP, some I could follow some I couldn't.  Since I am not a modder, I don't know if I could honestly follow along without screwing up, hence the reason I am only at about 10 programs/mods as they were essentially the ones suggested via the GOG guide that was published.  I figured if they put them together they must have got them to work.  Sure I would love to load up the game with the addons/mods/tc's etc., I am worry after spending two hours of getting everything installed, it won't run.
