Well, I finished the first dream and started working on the second and third. That's all still in draft form, and you can count on a lot of changes, but I won't post it here to avoid spoiling too much. If you want, I can send what I have to HighTimeRodeo, so that she can see where I'm going with this. Also, be warned, the first dream is intentionaly supposed to be a mite terrifying.

I've fleshed out most of the first dream and added more paths (this is still just part of the dream). I've also rearanged it a bit so it's more easy to follow. Tell me what you think.

Dream 1 (conditions: first conversation with Yoshimo done ? if in party - third Irenicus dream done; at next rest at an inn)

You wake up to the darkness of a dank tunnel. Your skin itches ? it feels wrong ? burning, and there is the smell of sulfur in the air. The soft glow of runes etched into the stone is the only thing you see. The stone itself, strangely enough, feels cold against your bare feet.

I. A voice: So, it is true. I can make you come to me. They did not lie? not this time.

PC1: Ow. My head. GOTO Voice1drunk
PC2: You do realize, whoever you are, that disturbing my much deserved rest could have lethal consequences? GOTO Voice2angry
PC3: They? GOTO Voice3curious1
PC4: Come to where? GOTO Voice4curious2
PC5 (WIS>15; INT>15): Those runes? That?s abyssal script. Why the hell am I dreaming about a disembodied voice in the Abyss? GOTO Voice5wise
PC6: Who are you? GOTO Voice6unsure
PC7: That voice? I know that voice! GOTO Voice7shocked

Voice1drunk. *Chuckles* Ah, yes. You had quite a bit to drink tonight, CHARNAME.  Thank you.  GOTO PC8

Voice2angry. As sure of yourself as ever, I see. But you are not the one with the upper hand here, CHARNAME. Best you remember that. GOTO PC9

Voice3curious1. As curios as ever, I see. Quench that curiosity of yours for now, CHARNAME. It will do you no good. It is I that will be asking the questions tonight. GOTO PC10

Voice4curious2. Does it matter?  This place, a figment of both our imaginations, is unimportant. The fact that you are here, a hair?s breadth away, is what matters. *something cool brushes against your bare shoulder* GOTO PC1,2,3,6,7

Voice5wise. I?m impressed. It seems that Gorion managed to drill something into that thick scull of yours after all? before I cut him in two. You haven?t forgotten about me, have you, sister? GOTO PC11

Voice6unsure. Have you forgotten me so soon? Or have I become just one more corpse in your wake? One more dead face in the crowd? *you hear heavy footsteps approaching* Father would be pleased if it were so. But I doubt you could ever forget me, sister. GOTO PC11

Voice7shocked. I would be surprised if you had forgotten. Such a tremor in your voice? I am pleased to see that you fear me still. GOTO PC 11

PC8
A: Thank you? What the hell is that supposed to mean? GOTO Voice 8
B. Thank you for the reminder. My head is splitting. While asleep. Generally not considered a good sign. GOTO Voice 9
C: How much I?ve had to drink is none of your concern. GOTO Voice 10
D: I?m sober enough to deal with you. Who ever you are. What is it that you want? GOTO Voice 11

Voice 8: The drinking bout you?re on has made you vulnerable, CHARNAME. Enough for me to slip in past your defenses. You wouldn?t believe how hard I?ve had to push to get here. So I thank you for indulging in your little pity-fest. GOTO PC2,5,6,7

Voice 9: Not grown up enough to hold your liquor, then? I?m disappointed. GOTO Voice 8

Voice 10: Indeed. GOTO Voice 8

Voice 11: You will find that out soon enough, CHARNAME. But, tell me, do you know who I am? GOTO PC2,5,6,7

PC9
A: What makes you think that you have the upper hand here? GOTO Voice 11
B: I don?t take orders from disembodied voices.
C: And if I choose not to? GOTO Voice 11
D: *You shiver, despite yourself ? something is very wrong here*

PC10
A. I don?t take orders from disembodied voices.
B. And which questions would those be? GOTO Voice 11
C: In that case, I?m bored already.
D: *You shiver, despite yourself ? something is very wrong here*

PC11
A: This is a dream.  GOTO Sarevok1
B: *soften your voice* I wish I could forget, brother. I never wished for your death. GOTO Sarevok2
C: You?ll whish I had by the time I?m done with you, you son of a gutter whore! GOTO Sarevok3
D: *say nothing and try and repress a shiver* GOTO Sarevok4
E: (alignment-chaotic):  Say, how?s it like being dead? Any good shops on the other side? GOTO Sarevok5
F: *sigh* How many times do I have to kill you, exactly? And call me sister again and the tally goes up to two. GOTO Sarevok6
G: Sarevok! *clench your fists* GOTO Sarevok7

Sarevok1: Managed to figure that one out all on your own, have you? GOTO PC12

Sarevok2: Then you are a bigger fool than I thought. Ending your miserable life would have been a triumph for me. GOTO PC13

Sarevok3: *laughs* Such a temper, dear sister. I find it curious that you couldn?t unleash this famed anger of yours while the man you called father breathed his last on the point of my sword. GOTO PC14

Sarevok4: Nothing to say? Come now, sister ? I have come a long way for this. GOTO Sarevok8

Sarevok5: Another frivolous word from you, and you?ll find out first hand. GOTO Sarevok8

Sarevok6: Once was enough, sister. Past time to even the score, don?t you think? GOTO Sarevok8

Sarevok 7: In the flesh. *chuckles* In a manner of speaking. GOTO Sarevok8

~

Sarevok8: Tell me, then, do I still haunt your dreams? Do you wake up, drenched in cold sweat and pear at the shadows in fear of finding me there? GOTO PC15

PC12
A: Bite me. GOTO Sarevok8
B: Why, yes I did. I?m that impressive. GOTO Sarevok8
C: *remain silent* GOTO Sarevok8
D: Why the hell am I dreaming about you of all people?! GOTO Sarevok8
F: No need for the sarcasm. GOTO Sarevok8

PC13
A: One more point where you and I differ. Killing is never the answer. GOTO Sarevok9
B: Just goes to show I?m a bigger person than you. GOTO Sarevok10
C: (alignment ? good&neutral) Oh, you misunderstand, brother. I should have kept you alive as my personal toy. There are some excruciatingly painful places I wanted to go with you. You got off easy. *unconsciously trace one of your own scars* GOTO Sarevok11
D: (alignment ? evil) Oh, you misunderstand, brother. I should have kept you alive as my personal toy. There are some excruciatingly painful places I wanted to go with you. You got off easy. *unconsciously trace one of your own scars* GOTO Sarevok12
E: I could have forgiven you, given time. GOTO Sarevok9
F: Gorion meant nothing to me, the old fool. It?s the ?trying to kill me? part that I frown on. If only you weren?t so hell bent on it, we could have worked together. GOTO Sarevok13

Sarevok9: What a pathetic weakling you are. How you ever managed to defeat me is a mystery to me. GOTO Sarevok8

Sarevok10: It shows what a sniveling weakling you are. That is all. GOTO Sarevok8

Sarevok11: Save your empty threats for those who would believe them. I know you, fool. You do not have it in you. GOTO Sarevok8

Sarevok12: *after a moment?s silence* Yes, I believe you would have liked that. How interesting. GOTO Sarevok8

Sarevok13: What makes you think that I would ever want someone like you at my side? GOTO Sarevok8

PC14
A: (alignment ? good&neutral) By Mask?s hanging sack! I should have kept you alive as my personal toy. There are some excruciatingly painful places I wanted to go with you. You got off easy. *unconsciously trace one of your own scars* GOTO Sarevok11
B: (alignment ? evil) By Mask?s hanging sack! I should have kept you alive as my personal toy. There are some excruciatingly painful places I wanted to go with you. You got off easy. *unconsciously trace one of your own scars* GOTO Sarevok12
C: *try and attack the blurred shape in the darkness* GOTO Sarevok14
D: *spit at Sarevok?s feet* GOTO Sarevok15
E: Gorion meant nothing to me, the old fool. (lie) GOTO Sarevok16
F: Gorion meant nothing to me, the old fool. (truth) GOTO Sarevok17
G: You?re trying to bait me, I think. I won?t rise to it. GOTO Sarevok18
H: *say nothing and clench your fists* GOTO Sarevok19

Sarevok14: GOTO Sarevok (clumsy, I know)

Sarevok15: I hit a raw nerve there, I see. I am pleased that I can still affect you so. But show such disrespect again and I will gut you where you stand. GOTO Sarevok8

Sarevok16: Save your lies for the world of the living. This place is beyond flesh, beyond the weave of clever words. In here, all of you is laid bare, CHARNAME. You cannot hide from me. And fool that you are, you loved that old man. But enough of that. GOTO Sarevok8

Sarevok17: Perhaps not. But it galled you, did it not, the memory of how you fled from me? Like a stray pup. GOTO Sarevok8

Sarevok18: *chuckling* So composed, little sister. Calm and unafraid? on the surface. Save your lies for the world of the living. This place is beyond flesh, beyond the weave of clever words. In here, all of you is laid bare, CHARNAME. You cannot hide from me. GOTO Sarevok8

Sarevok19: A great show of restraint, woman. But I can hear your teeth grinding from here. GOTO Sarevok8

PC15
A: *gesture at your surroundings* Well, obviously, yes. *pause* Minus the whole ?cold sweat and fear? part. GOTO Sarevok20
B: Note to self: stop drinking yourself into a stupor. Will lead to disturbingly vivid dreams about evil dead half-brothers. Stick to Jaheira?s herbal tea. *sigh* If I punch you in the face, will I wake up from this nightmare? GOTO Sarevok21
C: Think again. I had forgotten all about you just as soon as you crumbled into so much dust at my feet. Well, maybe ten minutes after that. I had to stop and clean my armor/robes. (lie) GOTO Sarevok22
D: Think again. I had forgotten all about you just as soon as you crumbled into so much dust at my feet. Well, maybe ten minutes after that. I had to stop and clean my armor/robes. (truth) GOTO Sarevok23

E. This isn?t real. It can?t be. GOTO Sarevok24
F: *shiver, remembering* GOTO Sarevok25

Sarevok20: *after a pause* I suppose you have me there. But that is not what I meant. GOTO Sarevok21

Sarevok21: I am here, CHARNAME. Right in front of you. *the glow of the runes intensifies, a large shape looms over you, golden eyes aflame* Will you not try and strike me down? *the mocking tone in the words is hard to miss* GOTO PC16

Sarevok22: Save your lies for the world of the living. This place is beyond flesh, beyond the weave of clever words. In here, all of you is laid bare, CHARNAME. You cannot hide from me. I know you haven?t forgotten me. GOTO Sarevok21

Sarevok23: *snarls* So easy for you, was it? *something cuts into your arm, deeply* I will make sure this encounter remains more memorable for you. GOTO Sarevok21

Sarevok24: You are right, of course. This is a dream. Your dream. But still?  GOTO Sarevok21

Sarevok25: Too cowardly to answer. But you dreamed of me before. The answer is written all over your face. Were you an insipid coward in those dreams too? GOTO Sarevok21

PC16
A: *Stay still* GOTO Sarevok26
B: *close your eyes* GOTO Sarevok26
C: I hope the demons of the Abyss are feasting on your bones as we speak! GOTO Sarevok26

Sarevok26: What a stubborn fool you are. *Something cold and sharp cuts into your bare shoulder* GOTO PC18

Sarevok27: *sneers* Care to think on that, CHARNMAME? *Something cold and sharp cuts into your bare shoulder* GOTO PC18

Ummmm, sidequests? ToB? Apart from WK?
Icen

I meant sidequests in SOA (if you're refering to the dreams suggestion). Sorry if I got it wrong , wasn't quite sure what you meant.

It's the same path whether it's romantic or platonic.

Talk after meeting Melissan
\/

Talk before going up the stairs to battle Gromnir and his goons and one after the battle and talk with Melissan
\/

Talk after the Wraith and Nyalee (we can include the Tamoko talk in here too. I figure we'll use the same set up that the cannon romances do. Using past loved ones to torment. I even have a bit of a dialog scribbled out... Somewhere)
\/

Talk after Yaga-Shura
\/

Talk after Abazigal/Sendai
\/

Talk after Sendai/Abazigal (however players want to go)
\/

Talk before Balthazar
\/

Last Talk before Ravager fight and Throne.

Warning... an obscene amount of questions to follow. :whistling:

So 8 lovetalks in total. This is the main path, right? Will you be including PIDs? Also, what about adding conversations after the Solar's relevations (or will that be included in the PIDs)? What I liked in for example Domi's Kivan mod is that you could get random conversations popping up depending on what you said in the PIDs. IMO, that adds a lot of flavor to a mod... but that's for later, when the main path has been planned out. Also, and I'm just stating an opinion here, without knowing what you guys have planed out, 8 talks seem a bit few for two former arch-enemies to hit it off. (then again, that's what the PIDs are for, really).

More questions... Sorry. :whistling: Will there be a difference (a tangible one) in the platonic or the romantic path for the oathed and the un-oathed version? (Hell, I'm starting to see why a Sarevok romance has never been done before  ).

As for the dreams, if you plan on using them, the timeline could be something like this, starting with chapter 2, maybe after all the dreams with Irenicus are done (I've changed my mind about the dreams starting in chapter 3 - some players like to run around quite a lot before siding with Aran or Bodhi).

Event: Third Irenicus dream done; at next rest at an inn (I've planed a talk with Yoshimo here and a drunken binge but I can't force that behavior or NPC on the player, but there could be an option if Yoshimo is in the party) - initiate Dream 1

\/

Since we can't know in which order the players will decide to do the sidequests (if at all), I'd put the next dreams that take place before Spellhold on a timer and let them trigger at rest. I won't mention posible topics here to avoid repetition, since I don't know what dialogues you have planed out for TOB. But!... :whistling: they could include the topic of what the PC's been doing with herself (Irenicus and the search for Imoen - here, I'd have Sarevok have prior knpwledge that the PC had been captured and that Imoen is missing, but not much else), Gorion and the whole Iron Throne mess, some mention of the Blood war (if the PC can pry it out of him)... I'll stop there. :)

I'd also like to make one of the dreams before Spellhold event dependant - start of Chapter 3, after the PC sides with Aran or Bodhi; at next rest. That talk would deal with the choice the PC has made and the motivation behind it (I'd expect a whole lot of mocking for the more tender hearted PCs)

There should be a dream after Spelhold (Slayer change done, Bhaal deam done, at rest) This talk should be a bit strained (I'd say that the fact that the PC can turn into Bhaal's avatar, soulless or not, while Sarevok is rotting away in the Abyss, would irk him a little... or a lot.)

The next event depended dream should be in Ust Natha (resting at the inn). In this dream there should be the possiblility of the soulless PC becoming intimate with Sarevok.

The last event depended dream should be after the PC defeats Bodhi - here, the PC could (stat dependant) figure out that the dreams have been real all along, which should have an inpact on the dialogue with Sarevok in hell.

...

Um... seems like lot of work, doesn't it?

Here is a part of my draft for the first dream, the begining. It's a bit messed up (I got kind of lost in all the responses), but you'll get the genaral idea. I've tried to cover as many PC types that I could.

Dream 1 (conditions: first conversation with Yoshimo done, asleep, drunk, Chapter 3)

You wake up to the darkness of a dank tunnel. Your skin itches ? it feels wrong ? burning, and there is the smell of sulfur in the air. The soft glow of runes etched into the stone is the only thing you see. The stone itself, strangely enough, feels cold against your bare feet.

Voice1. Have you forgotten me so soon? Or have I become just one more corpse in your wake? One more dead face in the crowd? *you hear heavy footsteps approaching*

Father would be pleased if it were so. But I doubt you could ever forget me, sister. GOTO PC8

Voice2. Does it matter? This place, a figment of both our imaginations, is unimportant. The fact that you are here, a hair?s breadth away, is what matters. *something cool brushes against your bare shoulder* GOTO PC1,3,4,6,7

Voice3. As sure of yourself as ever, I see. But you are not the one with the upper hand here, CHARNAME. Best you remember that. GOTO PC9

Voice5. As curios as ever, I see. Quench that curiosity of yours for now, CHARNAME. It will do you no good. It is I that will be asking the questions tonight. GOTO PC10
