Decap City

26 June 2007 - 05:23 PM

Note: Although I have posted a few pics under the name Decap city, I would like for them to be ignored as I will be making it a story from beginning to end. For tonight. The prologue, the beginning ^^

The Prologue

Location: Wintershroud Manor, Unknown

Wintershroud. A manor in the middle of well no where, only known to those that are thieves and assassins. A manor that even found, many would recall it being haunted and guarded by those of the afterlife. A manor currently occupied by the most ruthless and merciless criminals that Cyrodiil have ever seen, in fact that Tamriel have ever seen. This criminal is only known by one name and if lucky two. The man himself works alone but is known to have a 'family'. He protects his family and thus gained the nickname "Lone Wolf". Those close to him know him as Brackus. Brackus is an Imperial thief assassin and from Vvardenfell, carries a hatred and burden for guards. No one knows why except he loves to torment them and kill them, this is why no one ever dares ask why. Since they know if someone likes a job they do, they won't hesitate to take it a step further.

Within Wintershroud is a crime syndicate, this syndicate know everything from the Imperial Watch to the actions of the Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild. The leader of the syndicate is none other than Brackus and he has called for a meeting.

"Fellow criminals, it has come to my attention that the DBH and Thieves guild are worried about the Imperial Watch. They have contacted me personally saying the Watch are making their move upon the fellow factions and wish for us to reveal ourselves. However I know that if we reveal ourselves, this would take the heat off our siblings and push it onto us. I am not ready to take that step as we work in secret and so I propose a plan"

Brackus addresses his audience within his assassin attire. The most anyone has seen are those crimson eyes, he does hold a day attire for hiding within the crowds but even this isn't disclosed to his fellow syndicate. Keeping these apart help him to distingiush his life. A few mutters can be heard and so Brackus wastes no time to explain.

"My friends, the Watch plan to send spies into the factions and work from the inside. By infilterating the Watch myself I have been able to find out their plans but I must give thanks to the Gray Fox for giving me a distraction as the whole of the Watch went looking for him. Now we know the DBH sanctuary lies within Cheydinhal and that fences of the Thieves Guild lie within most of the major cities."

Brackus leans upon the map and begins to ponder while looking over Cheydinhal. His plan was forming within his head, he had to get it straight before he told the syndicate that consisted a mixture of thieves, assassins, bandits, mauraders, mercenaries and even veterans and retired men. He looks onward and nods, straightening himself up

"We shall indeed reveal ourselves but we shall do it as teams, if the proposed plan of the Watch is to annihilate both factions from the inside, the spies will gain the information of everyone's whereabouts and that means they will know where to strike. True we could simply go to where they are striking but if they are planning an all out strike and they learn of us then we are done for...By striking in teams we can perserve everything and the Watch will be helpless as their aid would be spread too thin. Now I will go cause an uproar within the Imperial City. To know I am around, they will love to try and handle me by themselves. The rest, you decide amongst yourselves which city you attend too. Our aim is to have two teams to a city. One cause uproar, the other defend the fences"

A few cheers are heard but this is soon halted as Brackus clutches his heart in terror, he gasps and sputters trying to say something is wrong before waving is hand in the air. Everyone stands still in shock as he drops to the ground, they wait to see if he gets up but nothing. Slowly a female murderer slowly walks towards Brackus only to spot his arm from around the map, completely motionless.

"Sir? Brackus, are you alright?" The young woman enquires. Though she gaps out of fright as a growl is heard and Brackus' body jumps up into a crouch. He waves the woman away.

"Stay away! Get out of here...he is calling, he calls....for me!"

The woman, fascinated by this sudden change, creeps forward. Brackus was hiding himself from view. Clutching his head in pain but just as the woman got closer, she covers her mouth with her hand to stop herself from screaming. These were people that kill and steal for their jobs. They were used to seeing blood and guts but not even this came close to that. This surpassed even that.

The rest of the syndicate couldn't understand why she was so afraid, that is until they saw his shadow and what seemed to be his head transforming. Brackus screams in agony, indeed his face was changing. He now stands, staring like a mindless zombie at the syndicate. The female murderer finds courage to stand beside him yet he doesn't move. He wasn't even breathing. She places a hand on the now cold surface of his cheek. Shaking her head in disbelief

"Amazing....it feels just like a helmet" Her hand continues to caress until his hand grips her wrist. He glances at her. The blackness of his eyes held no question that he was in there. He grips tighter causng her to shout and fight against him.

"Sir, you're hurting me!...You've grown...stronger, what are you?....what has it done to you?"

He smirks coldly, his free hand pushing her shrouded hood back as he tilts his head and admires the fear in her voice. Suddenly his head snaps, averting his attention to the little balcony upstairs.

"He calls...for me but why? I must end this before it can start"

He lets go of the woman who simply asks "Who? End what? BRACKUS!" but before she could follow, he was gone. Though it wasn't long until they realised where, he had taken the stairs and found where the voice originated from. He got closer and the owner of the voice could smell him, calling out for him. He brandishes his sword and stands in front of the one taunting him

"It ends. I maybe a killer but I will not allow you to be freed!"

The voice chuckles, staring at Brackus with his sword Hatred's Rising.

"But dear brother, you kill me and you kill yourself. We are family after all"

"Don't give me that story. I kill because I have too, you kill because you want too. I will not allow a monster loose, especially when the Watch plan to take us all down"

A pause is heard as the female murderer shouts from below "Brackus, who are you talking too? There is no one up there...but you"

"She is right bro, I'm in your head. I am the one you want to be. I am the monster you want to set loose and at the right time. What better way to destroy the Watch than to let a rampaging pyschopath on the loose? Come bro. We could rule Cyrodiil, just like we did back in Vvardenfell. What do you say make it like old times?

Brackus blinks as he snaps back to reality and notices his brother wasn't actually on the table in front of him. He sighs and shakes his head. Back in Vvardenfell, his brother was as real as he was. They were a murdering duo, Brackus wore a golden ordinator mask and Braxus wore a custom made ordinator mask. This was Until the Imperial Legion set them up. They lured them into a trap and his brother being blood thirsty lunged in and was killed, Brackus soon snapped and made an example of the soldier's involved. He made so much of an example that he personally delivered every bit and piece of the men himself and was exiled from Morrowind completely. Being within his cell, his hatred grew and grew for guards and law and soon made it is his personal quest to slay every law enforcer in Tamriel.

Braxus sighs and brings his brother back to the reason why the ordinator mask emerged and why he is in Brackus' head.

"Listen bro. That day they got me, I merged my soul to your mask. There was nothing I could do at the time and being slaughtered didn't give me enough time to think out the afterlife plan either, the reason you never knew I was there was because you blinded yourself with rage and hatred and never gave the "what if my bro isn't dead" scenario a chance and so I couldn't get back. However I recently found that with your mask I could summon it like bound armour and then get into contact with you. Now I hope you are listening good

Brackus nods and gets a quill and book out. Taking notes as his brother speaks

"Good...because I am with you bro. I want to kill as many guards as possible. I believe this will allow me to pass on, instead of being stuck inside but it would mean I would have to merge with you"

Brackus looks nervous though before he could ask or say anything, the merging begins. Brackus jumps as he feels the presence of another soul about him until ascension takes place. Both souls binding into one.

The body drops to the floor as groaning occurs. Slowly the figure gets up and begins to laugh. He shows off his power, releasing shockwaves of excess energy from his body, blowing out any light sources within the Map room.

"Finally brother, we are one. Your powers have been increased and so has your blood thirst. Of course you still have control, in fact we will both co-exist around each other. It just means we both feel the satisfaction of gutting someone and spend some quality family time together"

"Now...lets kill us some guards!"

{WIP} Whodunnit?

09 June 2007 - 04:04 PM

Yes you heard right. I plan to remake the Whodunnit? quest from the Dark Brotherhood quest. Reason for this is basically because although I love the quest I just find it "too" easy to get away with it all. Not to mention slightly disappointed in Beth Soft for not being "cruel" enough to the guests.

True I know nothing about scripting and that is why I am overlooking the original as we speak to see how Beth Soft have done this. However this doesn't mean have faith for me or toss me to the side. I am a quick learner and hopefully I will do something good instead of breaking the game but seriously, one thing I hated about Morrowind was that I could use the CS but never got my head around scripting and so this time I will be making it my own personal mission.

As to the truth of this topic, I would like to hear any ideas people have. Do not worry this will not replace the original and I'm afraid it will use the original Beth Soft meshes and textures (one thing I am crud at is graphics related things ) though currently my plans for this are:
  • Bigger manor, maybe castle to explore
  • More guests making more to kill and more or less be paired up meaning harder kills
  • The ability to frame guests
  • Possibly more "verbal" attacks and getting guests to confront one another
  • Possibly even have a "detective" in the middle of things
  • Traps that can be activated by the player
  • Depending on if I can do a few things, maybe have another killer on the loose with the player actually being in danger themselves
What I am aiming for is more towards a murder mystery weekend. The guests being tied together by some kind of connection (obviously one is you've been hired to kill them) but basically like I said I find it too easy to kill them off or "persuade" them to go somewhere to kill them. I hope to bring an element of danger or toughness into the place. That is of course if I can get my head around scripting.

Ideas, suggestions etc. are welcome and again like I said this won't replace the original and I may tie it off with the DBH, I don't know might just stay as a standalone for now
