It?s been five years since I?ve played and posted on here so many good memories and some great guys probably all left now, OMG Chevalier still posts he was really sweet with his advice. A lot has happened in that time got over my silly my crush on horred lol, uni, work, life, million hair colour changes :P yesterday I find my cigarette burnt BG2 case OMG did I really smoke that much yuck. I try it on W7 the scratched TOB CD pauses for a while, then starts again I got so excited, :)))

Okay I have lots of questions for you guys pleaaaaaase help.
I want a BP/NEJ/TS install.
Which version of BP is better 179d or 180b?
Where do I download NEJ and TS which versions work with BP?

This is my totally random install mod list. lol

Before BP
Dark Ritual (see below)
PlanarSphereMod 26c
Tashia NPC 1.3
Rogue ReBalancing Pack 447
Chloe 1.2 although there is a newer unsupported version which is safer.

After BP
Weimer-ItemUpgrade-v32
ruad-v20

Not Sure what order
Assassinations_v8
Deeper SoA 2.2.4
Item pack v1.1
Vecna v23
Keto v3
BG2 Tweak Pack (Which components are compatible not compatible)?

One of my favourite mods was Dark ritual nom nom, but chosenofmystra no longer support the download. Booo

Does anyone know where I can get the latest version of Dark Ritual version 1.03?
I still have version 1.1 but would much rather have the newer version if its compatible

Hugs x

Aww, and you never told me. I recall you being a real cutie too, even in technicolor (never knew which hair color was the real one lol). Shame, I also recall you living on the far side of the Atlantic. (That's a long drive for a date.) :(

I haven't worked on BP or any of my other modding projects in a while, but I still peek in the forums when I can. Been working day & night away at my new job. I managed to successfully transform my 'obsessive hobby' into 'illustrious career'. :) I now work for Alan Miranda over at Ossian Studios, as both a line producer and asst. lead of level design. (For those around here not familiar, he was a producer on Throne of Bhaal and a couple of the NWN expansions before starting his own studio). We're hammering away at The Shadow Sun, our RPG for the iOS devices (link to site in my sig). It might shock those familiar with BP and my other work, that I haven't written a single script at Ossian. I'm helping make the areas look pretty instead. I spend most of my time in art editors these days, and in Unity 3D. I can't say much more than that of course (yet), but I've really poured my heart and soul into the areas you'll adventure through, quite proud of my work, and I hope you all enjoy them as much as I did helping create them.

(There you have it, my first public announcement of this. Told you I'd fill you guys in first, when I could. ;) )

Glad you found the files you needed. I'd recommend for a smoother install, you check out the Big World Project. They took my old hammer & tong install madness and automated it. It also has links for all the mods, and downloads and installs them for you. These days it even lets you choose which components. Nice stuff! ;)

Happy to hear all is going well! Keep in touch!

The googler is correct. I ran into this in the weekend, and that's how I solved it. You have the spot in the BWP interface where you already typed a few 'y' 'n' 'r' etc spots. Type the path to BG1 on your install and hit the Send Entered Text button. Things start happening right afterwards.

I took a quick look at the batch file code, and it looks like there's an external text file that's supposed to be called up to tell you about this (@89.<file>) but it definitely didn't spawn in my install run and it sounds like it isn't for others.

And sorry about the wrong category thing, noobs you know... huge thanks again.

No problems, occasionally I'm around to sweep up the mess. (In case anybody wonders why I'm so busy, click the link in my sig and find out where I'm spending my time). And don't let that Jarno scare you. He's been compelled to bring up the post count in the Mega Mod Help section, or Asmodeus will change him back into a larvae for 1001 years.

*pokes*

Sorry for the double post, here is another issue however...

Certain NPC mods....
Kelsey
Xan
Nathaniel
Faren
Luxley

(there may be more since these are the only NPC mods I use :P)

Use the K button as a cutscene dialog/script fix. bpseries (in big picture) uses the k button to switch between melee and missile. By default, it seems that the script is set to be in melee. However, if k is activated on one of the above NPCs with the bpseries scripts, only the cutscene is activated, and the change in melee/missile mode does not occur.

This can be easily solved by going on NI and editing the override scripts for the specific characters or playing with the BP scripts. However, to improve compatibility... i think it is a good idea to remap the missile/melee button to another button... in the main install package... or perhaps BWP can do the remapping via the fixpack. All of the letter combinations have been used up @_@ Maybe a Ctrl+Something?

I'll post this in this thread and another in the BP page.

Actually, it would take something like a ToB Extender plugin to beat this, because the few other keys available have been hardcoded as off in the engine. I tested this by hunting down the universal symbol codes for each of the leftover keys ( , . / ; ' \ ` ), and trying the values in the IDS file. To no avail, I'm afraid. The 'Fixed-Unmappable' tooltip you see in the configuration tool for each of these is quite accurate.

Perhaps it could at least be noted as a mod compatability issue in BWP. Don't look for me to change mine; I'd have a dozen other functions on keys if they were available. The BP Series party AI keys are mainly for combat (i.e, life and death) whereas the NPC mods if I understand correct are for ease of bantering (not life and death). Perhaps NPC mod makers could find another way to trigger their talks?

I don't think that 'intention' is the right term to use when speaking of TDD/SoS/CtB/... items. It's far more likely that the author added an item with nine (!) extended header effects and never noticed an issue with charges misbehaving.

This brings back memories, of the original TeamBG tools; when NearInfinity was still a lad, and weidu was barely a sproutling. There was a lot of experimentation in those days, and on top of it the tools often did things you didn't intend them to. Large mods in particular were a big crap-shoot. For CtB, I remember Charles going through great efforts to learn weidu so he could code the mod up; I'm pretty certain a few non-intended oops'es came into being. Don't feel the slightest bit of intimidation, if cleaning these up. I truly doubt Max, Minto, or Charles Bisson would mind a bit, and would more likely thank you for it. :)
