how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?
Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.
Still a cyberjock, still hacking the matrix, still unsure of what that means.

Hmm, a refreshing thought.
Yet, I'd call your attention to a small difference between complete technical changes and small modifications. At this part, Refinements has some from both cathegories. Our HLA system would fit a TC, while other components of the mod (Shapeshifter rebalancing for example) are merely fixes and aesthetical changes.
About the upcoming components like the Five or Creature Revisions, or the True Dweomers (if we ever get to implement that one), they differ in many aspects. The Five changes will mostly contain slight scripting improvements, spiced up with the use of the new Refinements HLAs in the case of greater foes and tougher encounters. The Creature Revisions will use the same logic, but instead of HLAs, we will add existing and legal powers and abilities to the creatures involved.
All in all, I don't think this would require a TC to the game, not to mention the fact that TCs rarely become reality.

I'd hope not. Any TC that offers level 40 characters and HLAs is not something I'd want to play.With all the changes in this mod, does anyone think that they're best left for a Total Conversion?

Sief, I don't think that Refinements currently is a TC nor will it be even with the v2 changes.

And reconsidering my words, not even the HLA System is suitable for a TC: it doesn't "changes" the game, it merely finishes what Bioware left undone. I guess we won't argue that the old HLA tables are quite illogical and disordered. Refinements solves this problem by finally adding different powers and downsides to each and every kit in the game.

Yes it does. A generally accepted principle of modding anything is that a total conversion overhauls the entire game. In RPGs, this is primarily defined by the story/areas.
