I was wondering if somebody has ever found any information on these creatures in an AD&D 2E product. I have looked through nearly every Monstrous Compendium in existance but never found anything. I suspect BioWare invented these creatures together with the Phoenix Guard.

Isn't the Phoenix Guard, a group of elves protecting and defening the elves? Not sure if its the same thing mentioned.

That is what I want to know. The only information I have is that from Baldur's Gate which is pretty non-existant.

The Secret of Elven Retreat
The Phoenix Guard's primary purpose is the defense of the remaining elven communities on the mainland of Faerun. Should any elven kingdom be severely threatened, the Phoenix Guard will be dispatched. If the settlement cannot be saved, then the elves living there must go into Retreat. Under no circumstances will Evereska or the Greycloak Hills be abandoned. Also, the Guard will not come to the aid of non-elven communities. The elves believe the existence of the Phoenix Guard must remain a secret for as long as possible. To this end, when they are deployed, they will use the camouflage of the forest to conceal their presence, and not announce who they are to any non-elves who may be nearby.

I seem to recall searching for Phoenix Guard on Google but I guess I did not. Anyway, thanks for the information. I should probably have had a look at Candlekeep.

no problem. I had to use a combination of several keywords to generate relevant results from google. the keywords I used were 'phoenix guard, myth drannor'. I used others but came out with irrelevant results.
