Completed the SOA-TOB a few weeks ago. However, notice that the redemption mod did not start. This is the 2nd time I played SOA-TOB-Acension with redemption but both also did not start the redemption.

Anyone special note or requirement when installing redemption ?

hi guyver, nicd to see you made it here.

redemption - straight out of the box - doesn't work with BP. you need to make edits to the file Setup-Redemption.tp2 and include a new file in the redemption directory in order for it to work.

for BP and BP-NEJ, this thread describes the changes you need to make to the Setup-Redemption.tp2 file, and links to the file you need to put into your Redemption folder - see Dorotea's posts in this thread for more information.

for BP-BGT and BP-BGT-NEJ, you need to make additional edits to the Setup-Redemption.tp2 file. See this thread for the additional changes that need to be made for a BP-BGT or BP-BGT-NEJ install.

Well, good Seanas,

Thanks for your reply email that allow me to link up. Manage to clear the previous game even thought my installation is buggy. Going to delete and re-install the game and mods, and trying to install as much compatible mods as possible. Have been reading the forums and download mods for the past few days.

Will start installing soon and join in the fun.

Regards

The readme file in Redemption download site indicates that version 113 is supposely compatible with BP. So, should I used version 113 ? Do I need change anything on the .tp2 file and/or replace the AR6200asc.bcs (download from Dorotea's posts) if I used version 113?

I am installing BP without BGT.

yes to both. you need the AR6200.BCS that dorotea has uploaded, as the BP one has an error in in which means that Redemption won't install.

in the .tp2 file, you will find the following block:

REQUIRE_FILE ~Data/25Dialog.bif~
@1 // ToB sanity check
REQUIRE_FILE ~override/BODHIND.2da~
@2 // Ascension check

as far as i know, Redemption can have problems finding these in BP - they're there, but they're wrapped up in .bifs (or at least BODHIND.2da is) and Redemption doesn't know where to look for it. so, comment these lines out. ie, do the following:

// REQUIRE_FILE ~Data/25Dialog.bif~
// @1 // ToB sanity check
// REQUIRE_FILE ~override/BODHIND.2da~
// @2 // Ascension check

then save the file, and it should install fine. if you get any error messages during the installation process, please post them here and we'll find fixes for them.

Hi Seanas,

With the Big Picture s_and_h Patch version 3 installed, does that means no need to install the AR6200.bcs file and modify the tp2 file during Redemption installation ?

Yes for the script, no for the music changes.

Does redemption 1.2 work with the mod? Do you mean by no to the music changes meaning that we have to modify the tp2 file still? THanks

it means: if you are installing Redemption, on any flavour of BP install, then you don't need to alter any tp2 files.

if you are installing *Longer Road* on a BP or BP-NEJ install, you also don't have to modify the tp2 file. if, on the other hand, you are playing BP-BGT or BP-BGT-NEJ, and installing Longer Road, then yes, you need to modify the tp2 file as directed in the BP_s_and_h_Patch readme.

So, Longer Road is compatible with BP-BGt-NEj, then.. I uninstalled Redemption and downloaded LR. I discovered that the changes you're supposed to make for the LR tp2 file are the ones for the Redemption tp2 file. These commands aren't even in the tp2 file for LR. Could you perhaps post an update of what you're supposed to edit for the LR tp2 file?

Thank you
