I recently bought new AMD64 Athlon Computer. Was playing BP-BGT-NEJ with few minor problems. I have now tried putting game on this computer and get error message below. I have un-installed everything that I am aware off and re-installed two-three times now. Have even used regedit to locate anything to do with Black Isle & Baldur,

Game plays fine when I configure BG1, Shadow and Throne to make sure they work. Have done virus scan using AVG and nothing shows up there, all downloads are from the Wizards web site.

Any ideas how to correct, I think it might be something in registry that I am overlooking. Cannot see it being download problem. Any help is appreciated.

This could be the result of an incomplete download,

a failing disk, or (possibly) corruption from a virus.

You can try to force an install using the /NCRC

command line switch (but it is NOT recommended)

That is correct, they play fine before I try tio install the BP-BGT-NEJ using
"Fixed-BP-BGT-NEJ-310-COMPLETE.exe"

I can start SOA & Throne fine before running 310-complete, only get posted error message once I try to run 310-complete. Error message happens almost happens immediately after starting this installer. I let program know where to install BP and then it runs and up pops error message.

This happens just happens during unpacking of SOS which is first install I think. I cancel this due to error message, all parts seem to run ok after that (TDD.....).

So I do not not if installer is corrupted, somthing wrong with SOS program or registry problem. Have only downloaded from Wizards site and have done that a number of times.

Have tried to play Throne & SOA since getting error and noe cannot play this, which I think is due to the incomplete 310 install.

Have you tried a manual install? Slow process I know, but maybe something in the auto process doesn't like the AMD processor? Can't imagine why, the O/S hides the processor from an application, but maybe something in this utility doesn't like the difference.

Unless someone else here as seen this happen on an Intel-based system.

I might try manual install. I had game running fine untill yesterday. Played BG1 and during transition to BG2, scene comes up and nothing happened except sitting in cage, let it run about 1/2 hour, still in cage.

That is when I removed everything and re-installed. Now I have error message, I might try to use a backup of system and try to do a fresh install to see if there was a problem in registry. If does not install, will try manual, unless someone has other idea.

I enountered a similar error message when the installer was attempting to install TDD. My tdd103full.exe folder was downloaded from Fileplanet some months ago and had been copied from the hard disk of my old PC to a CD to the hard disk of my new PC (which has an Athlon 64-bit processor). So, I suspected a corrupt file and downloaded tdd103full.exe again from the Wizard's web site. The game installed fine with this new download. So you might try re-downloading your SOS files and seeing if that helps. Try a different mirror site if you can find one
