Read. Read. And read some more. The WEIDU readme, the tutorials in several places, the message boards. I often found questions I had were answered on message boards. And prepare for a lot of pulling your hair out

weiDu has a very helpful readme that comes with it.

you can also check out the tutorials made by japheth and the others (a complete list is posted at the official weiDu site ) Weimer's BG2 Mods

you can also look at the post i started a few months back... all the questions i asked were pretty much answered and complete with the details.

i'm releasing a mini-mod this month, by the way (shameless plug)! i started without knowing a thing about modding and now i think i've got the basics figured out and i'm sure you can too!
