I just tried to install the version 3 BP-s_and_h_patch to my BP-BGT-NEJ game, but received the error messages below. I know the .TP2 file is there, as I can see it in the Shadows of Amn directory along with the .EXE file. I have tried re-extracting the files several times, but keep getting the same error messages.

Do I need to have installed the version 1 and/or 2 patch(es) prior to installing this one? If not, what am I doing wrong?

Works fine for me. Are you certain you are extracting the files correctly? ie) WinRar to decompress the files and the BP_s_and_h_Patch folder in your game directory, the setup files in your game directory as well?

I've tried all sorts of combinations. Used WinRAR and Winzip, extracted 'here', to the base Shadows of Amn directory, to a BP-s_and_h_patch folder in the SoA directory, (as well as to the patch folder, then moving the two files generated to the Shadows of Amn directory), etc. If I try to run the setup program anywhere other than the Shadows of Amn directory, it tells me to run it under the Infinity Engine game directory. If I run it under the main SoA directory, I get the message I entered in my original post.

I had downloaded the version 1 patch a few days ago, and just looked at it. I noticed it has LOTS of folders and files, while the version 3 one only has the setup executable file and the setup .tp2 file. Should it be that way? I never installed the version 1 patch.

there are most definitely three parts to the s_and_h v3: a folder, an exe and a tp2. i've just downloaded the file from my site and unpacked it and confirmed that yes, all the requisite files are there - including the .tra file (translation file) that yr missing. try downloading it from the link in my .sig again: for some reason you didn't get the whole thing.

UPDATE:

I just installed the version 1 patch, and it went fine. Then I tried installing the version 3 patch on top of it, and it went part way through, then ran into an error loading BP_s_and-h_Patch/drag, and uninstalled 67 files.

I'm going to send you the debug file via email, as it says to do. Hopefully that will tell you enough to let me know what I did wrong.

Ah, you posted while I was writing. I will re-download the patch, and try again. I will hold off on sending the debug file to you until I've tried the new download. It may be tomorrow before I can get that done.

Re-downlaoding the file worked. The first one I downloaded was less than 300Kb, this one was over 500. It ran with no problem.
