Dear Zippy, the riddle is form a book called 'Satan, Cantor and Infinity' by Raymond Smullyan... and it is quite possible to solve it by using logic. I would rather not post spoiler here in the open forum, but if you are still stuck please email or PM me for the answer.

Freedom cannot be equated with goodness, virtue, or perfection. Freedom has its own unique self-contained nature; freedom is freedom ? not universal goodness. Any confusion or deliberate equalization of freedom with goodness and excellence is in itself negation of freedom, and acceptance of the path of restraint and enforcement.

Just a few quick questions Dorotea, and please, answer me in PM:
- what triggers the Demogorgon encounter at the Throne of Blood?
- is this encounter avoidable/necessary (to be honest, I very much dislike the idea the DG appears and lets himself butchered PERMANENTLY by the party)?

Thanks for the answers. ;)

BTW, TG, there is a problem : if it's the real Demogorgon triggered at the Throne of Blood or just another avatar. If it's an avatar, then Demogorgon won't be "permanently butchered", if it's the true one, that's crazy since the party will no way be able to defeat a Lesser Power.

Hi guys -- it is a 'real' DG, but you cannot butcher him permanently. In fact he warns you that he cannot be killed in ToB, since the only place he can be perm-killed is his own Abyssal Domain, not Bhaal's One. ToB is divinely morphic, as all such demi-planes, and with death of Bhaal it is really a weak demiplane that is 'bleeding' -- ie loosing its shape and power. When you defeat DG there he simply flees back to his own Abyssal layer to lick the wounds. Also, if you play riddles you avoid the fight altogether. The reason for him showing up is to chastise you for 'stealing' Irenicus from him, after all Jon is the Abyssal petitioner and technically he 'belongs' to DG.

//Sorry for being away -- I am gradually getting sucked into modding Aurora engine... With release of the CEP and henchmen manageable inventories (in HotU) it is finally worth looking into, and gods, it is fun!

If it is the REAL DG, than I fear that fight might be too much of a challange, if coded the proper way (and I'm positive it is not ;) ). The real DG wouldn't hesitate to summon his true personal minions and guards (unique Balor, Marilith Blackguards, dozens, maybe hundreds of lesser tanar'ri...) at the very moment he is attacked, and would be able to use the full scale of his powers on the party. Not something to be trifled with, even at those high levels. Dorotea, I guess You simply used the Watcher's Keep files for this encounter, right? I'm not usre, but You might have forget that that one was merely an avatar of the true DG...
