Planar Sphere Bug (Spoilers)

Hey guys. After I step into the portal to the planar prison to fight Melanthium, I get stuck in a never ending cutscene. All these spell effects go off, then we just stand there, and no one does anything. Im using v2, I even tried rolling back to v1.6, but it still happens there too.

I noticed other people have been having this problem, is there any fix for this?

Also, one more bug with the Melanthium quest.

I accept Teos' offer and go to the Den of the Seven Vales for the artefact. The betrayer cowled wizard spawns twice (theres two of him). Then later in the pilot room there's two Elminsters, the nightmare sequence works fine, the Harper's hold is filled with multiple spawns - several Elminsters, the 'normal' Melanthium spawn, along with a hostile Melanthium that attacks me while im talking to the proper one. Everything beyond that seems to work fine, except the cut scene bug I mentioned above.

Is this a known bug? Any solution?

Never had it or heard of it I'm afraid. Does it happen if you reload an earlier savegame and move forward again?

From my experience
It is acutally a bug after uninstall/reinstall of planer sphere mod
I got the exactlly the same problem before too
(4 melithium in Harper Hold...)

The best solve solution is reinstall BGII while deleteing every thing
(Conserve your save datas of course...)

Ah. I did do a reinstall part way through, I was running the old v1.6

Will this fix the cutscene and the double spawns? Thanks for the solution guys :)

Hmm, it seems this mod still has numerous problematic/buggy elements. :(

Re-installing everything fixed the double spawn problem. But the continuous cutscene bug is still happening.

And theres a new bug, probably not related to these mods, but still. It would seem that some text files are mixed up; when i talk to the portal to the prison it gives me the description for Killimer's Power Nullification. Ruad the smithy says something about purring (like a cat). Any ideas?

UPDATE - After many re-installs I think I've fixed most things. Still two bugs though!

1 - Some creatures dont have any names. The two golems in the rune room, the portal and the Lady are all nameless. Reinstalling doesnt fix this.

2 - The cutscene bug! I still cant fix this one

Interestingly enough, my friend recently installed this mod and is having none of the problems that I'm running in to. :help:

uninstall your BGII, then reinstall everything in the following orer

1.BGII full install, Throne of Bhaal full install, Throne of Bhaal Latest Patch, Baldurdash Throne of Bhall Fixpack.

Actually that won't do anything IMO. Those patches etc... won't touch the mod, and it sounds like his system just doesn't like it.

The solution for that is to use a debug cheat and summon an extra melanthium, summon the one with the psq137 resource, he just stands there and does nothing.
Now be aware that this is one long battle, cuz u can't kill him, it's time based or something, after trying to kill him without cheats I used shadowkeeper to give me Imoen's belt which makes me immortal and enabled cheat keys, which with ctrl+y kills anything but immortals in the game, so I spent an hour bored clicking constantly on ctrl+y on him and it lowered his hp 500 each turn and he was near death for like forever.
Anyway my point is you may have to create Mel with the 110 resource if the game doesn't go on. (But it takes real ages until he does so don't be impatiant)

Hope you understoond, I'm not good at explaining ><

Melithium is acutally a Script Killed Char

you need to fight through all his scripts for him to die
I think i posted a complete list of his scripts here beofre, check t out

Hi all

Thanks for the useful replies. Ive actually started again (for unrelated reasons ^_^ ) so i cant test the Shadowkeeper method. Hopefully it wont happen ths time, but if it does, ill just spawn a Melanthium like you said.

I had the same problem with the never-ending cutscene. Part of the issue was that I never actually killed Tolgerias... after he teleported away, I didn't think it worthwhile to track him for a mere Ring of the Ram. Fast-forward 20 hours of play. I go into the PS basement, and I see the sorcerer, the Lady, and... Tolgerias! Ugh. As the sorcerer and the Lady are unleashing awesome magical power at each other, Tolgerias is casting stoneskin, mislead, and generally being a nuisance. And then the cutscene hangs.

Annoyed, I went into ShadowKeeper to convince the game that I already killed Tolgerias, by adding the following line to GlobalVariables (I imagine CLUA would work as well):

SPRITE_IS_DEAD_TOLGER2 = 1

With Tolgerias out of the way, the cutscene went off without a hitch. :thumb:

Now if only I could figure out how to enter the portal without the game crashing to desktop...

I can't even reach the prison battle the game crashes and says it can't find the AR0452
