I´ve entered the planar sphere just for the heck of it and to get more xp.
I´ve talked to Lavok about getting the demon heart and was going to enter the demon realm but entered up in Athkatla again.
The demon realm is showin in the map in the room to the left when u enter the sphere and I seem to be stuck. I cant finish this quest to help Lavok or Valygar now. What can I do?
I have installed everything in order and this is the first bug I encountered so far.
I also have the latest patch for tob so nothing is wrong.
How can I solve this?

That is a really old bug. To go to the demon's area, use the console and type:
CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR0414")
After you are done there, you should be able to return to the slums as normal with Lavok.

good solution SirBB, but what causes it? i've never seen that bug before - i know it was reported a few weeks ago, but what's causing it, and why is it so sporadic?

Don't know the cause. I assume the door travel trigger needs a global set that may not always get set when you talk to Lavok. Or maybe the door's trigger sets as soon as you walk in. I have had this problem since before BGT-BP. This one I think goes back to 1.60 or older of BP. It doesn't always happen so I guess it never got fixed. I had played through sessions back then that it would work fine and other times it wouldn't.
Since no one has complained in awhile, I guess we all assumed it was fixed.Speaking of old bugs. Did the paladin quest (part 3 - protecting the girl) ever get fixed? The guard inside used to have the wrong dialog and the uncle was always evil but the Order would say you screwed up.

The trigger in the PlanarSphere is a wee thin little think in the entranceway. Often when characters with high movement (boots of speed, monks, haste, etc...) don't set it off. Same as sometimes you can quickly run over a trap without it triggering. It's a problem with the base game.
However, I can't recall if that particular trigger affects the whole hell/amn location or not...
