He probably bullied them into to it because their portfolios are so similar to his own, and they're weaker gods. Bhaal in turn served Bane, and collectively, they and Myrkul are/were known as "the Dark Gods" (just as Talos, Auril, Malar and Umberlee are the "Gods of Fury").By the way, about Talona and Loviatar, how came they to serve Bhaal? Did he 'inherit' them when he ascended?
BTW even though they once served the same master, Talona and Loviatar have always been bitter rivals, and they both sometimes even help good aligned adventurers if they think it would weaken or humiliate the other.
The correct title for Loviatar is actually the Maiden of PainLady of pain of course refears to a very different figure.
