I see from the compatibilty thread above that these should be compatible, however, when I last tried running them together, I couldn't get to any of the Big Picture specific areas (in particular, the ones I think TDD adds) without a crash. Is there anything specific I need to install for additional compatibility, or was it the luck of the draw? I used the autoinstaller for BP 161G for installation of the Big Picture components and then installed CtB immediately thereafter. I had only a couple of the tried and true NPC mods in addition to BP and CtB (Kelsey, Sola, Tsujatha and the flirt/banter packs).

Anything I need to do differently, or should I just try it again? :)

Thanks!

So far, players are only complaining about the Docks having a problem. The rest of the game should be fine. If you used an autoinstaller, it probably biffed the two files that CtB looks for to determine if your game is a BP game or not. Those are DDMary.DLG and BPITEM02.2da.

Check to see if those files are in your override. If not, CtB didn't install correctly and didn't adjust the install for a BP game. Before you rebuild (because you are going to need to), go download the CtB-BGT-BP-Prep.bat file up in the CtB forum and use it before installing CtB.

If these two files are in your override folder, you did something else to screw up the install, you can't blame it on CBisson's mod (but I do anyway :)).

Blah, still having the crash problem when I try to do anything related to TDD. I'll try that prep patch though. Thank goodness for clean install backups. :)

Thanks!

*sigh* Okay, can someone tell me what exactly I'm doing wrong?

I have a clean install of BG2+TOB and the patch. I then installed BP manually following the manual installation guide and double checking every single step to make sure I was doing the right thing. I'm about 99% certain I'm doing this bit right, because my plain BP installation works just fine. I checked to make sure the DDMary.dlg and BPitem1.2da were in my override folder, which they were, then installed CTB 150 with the updated TP2 file. The ONLY other thing I installed was DBG, simply to skip out of Chateau Irenicus. Don't think that could possibly cause my problem.

The problem comes when I try to access any of the content I believe TDD adds. It's simply not accessable via my world map. I went to the Gates district and got the world map update from the kender there to Eshpurta, but when I try to exit the Gates district, I can see Eshpurta on the map, but it's greyed out no matter how many times I go through the Gates or which zone edge I use to leave it. So then I tried to go to Umar Hills and met up with Johanna. Again, no workable update to my world map, though I know I picked the right choices during her conversation. Met up with Kivan while I was in Umar Hills and took him along to the cave, as he wanted. Trying to zone into the cave with Kivan and his quest resulted in a crash every time. Going into the cave without having picked up Kivan is fine.

As I said, I'm pretty darned sure I've installed BP correctly, but putting CTB on top of it seems to cause me issues. Pretty sure DBG couldn't possibly be the issue, but heck, I'll try taking it out if need be. :P That's my entire list of mods at the moment..Any suggestions?

It is possible that Kivan's quest is also buggered. I was just using the Umar area for a creation of mine and noticed that several parts of the area file are corrupt after installing CtB. CtB adds a new person on the map just south of that cave entrance. I discovered that the settings for interrupted sleep (what critter wakes you up) was all hosed and I had to reset it using DLTCEP. The area script looks fine and the houses all work when entering them. It was just some of the later parts of the area file like the sleep section. Not sure why and no one else has mentioned this. I did notice that there is no exit from Kivan's cave on the map, I can't remember but do you normally exit out of the Umar Witch cave or out where you entered Kivan's cave? If Kivan's cave, that is a bug from CtB.

Hmm. I'll have a look at the Umar files then just for kicks. Still can't figure out why I can't access, say, Eshpurta or the Trollford area, though. Oh well. Guess I can just dig through NI a bit and CLUA in. :)

Thanks again. I've been wanting to try all this questy goodness. I'm not new to mods, but until I got a decent-sized hard drive finally, the size of BP and CTB were a bit daunting. :)

To see if the TDD areas are really trashed, just CLUA to each area map. If that fails, the install was bad. If it is just the map, that may be an issue with CtB installing the wrong map for you.

CtB checks to see which mod package you already have (SoS, TDD or BP) and installs a Worldmap appropriate for that game. Maybe it is thinking that you have TDD installed and not the full BP so it installed the wrong Worldmap. Dunno. However, those two files being in your override is critical for CtB to install correctly. If you did that step, the wrong map is the only other idea I have right now.
