Where is Griff?

I have got 4 pieces of the Star Forge. I am about to got Korriban to get the last piece, however I want to tie up the loose ends before then. The 2 quests I can't finish are both located on Tatooine. I can't find Bastila's mother (although Bastila has been taken by Darth Malak so I'm guessing thats the reason) and I can't find Griff (Missions brother). I went to the Sand People enclave, and the Cheiftain said I can take him but... he's not there! I wandered all round that place and no Griff. Did he get eaten by Banthas?

He is in the cell across from the Jawas. Do you have Mission with you?
And Bastila's mother is at the Tavern, though I'm not sure if she'd be there with Bastila gone.

Yes, shes not hard to find at all so I suspect it is because Bastila is not with you.

That is correct, her mother won't be there once she gets captured by Malak.Yes, shes not hard to find at all so I suspect it is because Bastila is not with you.

I have tried going to the cell with Mission but its bare. Guess he got fed to a Krayt Dragon or something.

*SPOILER ALERT*
The first time I played through, I did the same thing -- returned to Tatoonine in search of Griff, but after all the other planets (a quest clean-up, I guess you would call it) and before heading towards the Star Forge. At that time, I took Mission with me and went back to the sand ppl's enclave, but no Griff..
The second time I played through, I did the sand ppl's vaporator quest, and on the first run to their enclave had HK and Carth with me. After I got the vaporators from Czerka, I went and 'traded' HK for Mission at the Ebon H, and then returned to the sand ppl, delivered the water gizmos, then got the okay for the captives to go free. Then I found him. I suspect that you have to also have gotten as much banter from Mission about him as is possible, also -- all about Lena, etc. (Plus, later, iirc, you actually run into that interstellar hussy..
