I just bought Morrowind GOTY for a bit of variety. Are there issues with XP? The game keeps crashing on me which is kind of annoying and I haven't found a really good goto for answers (Except of course Spellhold, the greatest forum on Earth). I don't have any mods installed except Balmora House - I wanted to get the vanilla feel first. I've checked some of the links here and haven't had an answer jump out at me. I'm hoping one of you guys will take pity and help me out.
Thankyou in advance

Morrowind and XP issues?

Hmm... I've got it running under win xp no problem - over 100 mods. Only crashing problem I'm aware of was with one of my friends, but that was because of some graphics card issues on that case. I suppose you've tried re-installing?

Thanks Silver, Yep I've reinstalled, added all the tools suggested etc. I've updated my graphics drivers and so far so good. Thanks for the reply. I'm going to play through mod free first, then I'll be chasing mod recommendations

I'm always glad to hear that I may have been some help.

The sad truth of Morrowind is that the game is decidedly unstable - it would crash to desktop every couple of hours or so for me, for no apparent reason. Mods in general dont destabilise the game, but its probably a good idea to play it unmodded first.
Forward he cried from the rear
And the front rank died
And the general sat and the lines on the map
Moved from side to side.

Yes, it isn't very stable and it's performance varies greatly on different PCs, hopefully Oblivion will be more stable.
