Does anyone know where there is a half-decent online resource about the Red Wizards? I've turned up very little in general trawling and surprisingly, found almost nothing on the Wizards site. I have some background on the Thayan demographic structure but what I'm looking for is information on motives etc. I'm looking for a good reason as to why (say six) Red Wizards would be working together, instead of against each other, as part of a mod storyline.

There is also a lot about then in the D&D manual "Lords of Darkness" (tsu11989)

WotC used to offer the "Dreams of the Red Wizards" as a free download. I just checked and it isn't on their list anymore. That may be a good source for you. I haven't read it yet though so I can't verify.

The first link is part of my meagre resources. I'm not a DnD player beyond CRPGs so I'm reluctant to spend out for a book that I'm only going to use for a few minutes and then never pick up again.

Your help is appreciated though.

Do you have a copy by any remote chance? If it was on the Old Editions download page then I don't feel guilty in asking.

I have had an unexpected offer of just that book, so I do not wish to put you to work that is not necessary. Again though, thank you for taking the time and trouble to answer.

Taking the time and trouble to answer is the least I can do. You taking the time and trouble (along with all the other modders) making the mods we play is something.

In the meantime, this page has some basic info on the motives of each of the Zulkirs, the leaders of the Red Wizards, so it could suggest some possibilities for lesser Thayvians :).

@ Yovaneth,

If you dont happen to get the book, let me know I do have it as a PDF file (its 39.8mb) so I would have to give you ftp access to download it. (once I repair the HD on my FTP box which should be today).

There is over 20 pages about the Red Wizards of Thay in it. Really nice reading.

Are you refering to Dreams of the Red Wizards or to Lords Of Darkness ? Because the first one has 74 pages about Thay and Red Wizards.
