After having downloaded many mods over the past few weeks (darn dial-up), I am nearing the time to install them. Could everyone take a look at my proposed install list and also answer a few questions?
Please note that entries with an asterisk have questions related to them.

1) Full BGII SOA+Collector's ed. Bonus Disk+ Pre-order Bonus Disk+TOB+26498_patch

Non-WeiDu:
*2)BG2 TOB Text Update12 (from Baldurdash)
3)Exnem Vault v5.0

Following non-WeiDu BP installation order in the pdf from Yazzuie
4)Soubar_v100
Soubar101 patch
5)TDD103Full
TDD103-to-103A patch
6)TSv50
TSv503
TSv504
TSv505
7)NEJ-WeiDu13i
DP-NEJv12
NEJ1v14p
8)BP_s_and_h_Patchv5
*9)TDD kit remover (this is not included in Yazuie's pdf)
10)FR_RoV_WeiDuv3 (Freedom's Reign/Reign of Virtue)
11)Weimer Item Upgrade-v32
12)Cespy Audiov1
*13)Weimer-Ease-v32
14)Redemption-v1.2
*15)Imoen Romancev12Full
ImoenPatch-v1201

WeiDu
16)CtB-TDD Fix
CtB WeiDuv160
17)Unfinished Business (without Valygar component)
18)The Following Mod Resurections:
Ajoc's MiniMod-WeiDuv16
Mordan's Xmas Modv1.0
Planar_Sphere_Return_v2WeiDu
The_Holy_Hand_Grenade_v1.0
19)Unusual Oddities Shop-v2.0
20)Underrepresented Itemsv5
21)MunchMod-v2.6

And Finally:
22)Banter Packv6
23)NPC Flirtv101
24)WorldMapv5

Now, on to the questions!

Q1) Is my install order correct?
Q2) Have I forgotten any fixes or patches?
Q3) As the Text Update(see#2) is from Baldurdash, is it needed or is it in the Baldurdash
components included in the BigPicture?
Q4) Is this the proper place(see#9) for the Kit Remover? I have no interest in playing a kit, but I understand
that there is a problem with the "Kit slots" being over-filled with this many mods being installed.
Q5) Yazzuie's BP pdf calls for Weimer's Ease of Use-v28 to be used; is version 32 alright to use instead?
Q6) I understand that when installing the Imoen Romance Mod(see#15) along with other mods that include
music, the "music slots" can be over-filled; What problems does this cause and can they be avoided?
There is a non-music version of the romance; do I need to use it instead?
Q7) I would like to use the TOB Bhaal Powers mod; When should I install it?
Q8) Does anyone know about the Blackrose Marketprices quest mod; is it compatible; and when would I
install it?
Q9) Overall, is this a stable install list? Are any of the items troublesome and should be excluded?
Q10) Does anyone have any pointers to avoid messing up this whole install?
Q11) Any additional mod recommendations to extend my game playtime? (though I probably have enough!)

Thank you in advance,
Vladimir

I see that you're planning to make an old-BP installation.

Do not install CtB WeiDU v160 and its TDD fix. They're designed to work properly only with SoSv1.05, TDDv1.05, TS-BPv6.04 and BGT-Weidu, not that ancient stuff you have.

And I don't see a core component - BPv161 itself. So, what the reason to try everything else if it won't work together? Remember -all those mods you're planning to install are non-WeiDu and will never work together without main "merger" BPv161.

(last update: 02-12-2008)

SoS, v1.13
TDD, v1.12
TS-BP, v6.10

as KD said, dont install CtB on a BP-BGT-NEJ (ie, non-weidu) install: it just doesn't work, and wont work, no matter how hard you try. you'll waste a good many hours re-installing, tho! :P

further:

1) Full BGII SOA+Collector's ed. Bonus Disk+ Pre-order Bonus Disk+TOB+26498_patch

NOOOOOOOOOO! not the bonus or pre-order disc if yr installing BP! they're already included in BPv161G! installing them here will break yr install.

Non-WeiDu:
*2)BG2 TOB Text Update12 (from Baldurdash)
3)Exnem Vault v5.0

NO! good god no! NO non-weidu mods on top of this install! you've got Yazzuie's guide, yeah? don't go near baldurdash of any description on a BP-BGT-NEJ install: it's already included in BP (and you checked the compatibility thread, yeah?) Exnems' currently exists as a weidu mod (unless i'm mistaken, v5 is the weidu version) - install it at the end of yr install, say as part of step 18, and it'll be fine.

Following non-WeiDu BP installation order in the pdf from Yazzuie
4)Soubar_v100
Soubar101 patch
5)TDD103Full
TDD103-to-103A patch
6)TSv50
TSv503
TSv504
TSv505

6a) BPv161G (altho if yr sensible, you'll use the auto-installer that's packaged inside the BPv161G archive: makes steps 4, 5 and 6 much less painful).

7)NEJ-WeiDu13i
BP-NEJv12
NEJ1v14p
8)BP_s_and_h_Patchv7

note the version change on the s_and_h patch.

*9)TDD kit remover (this is not included in Yazuie's pdf)
10)FR_RoV_WeiDuv3 (Freedom's Reign/Reign of Virtue)
11)Weimer Item Upgrade-v32
12)Cespy Audiov1
*13)Weimer-Ease-v32
14)Redemption-v1.2
*15)Imoen Romancev12Full
ImoenPatch-v1201

no promises the Cespy Audio will work, but no reason, in theory at least, why it shouldnt.

WeiDu
16)CtB-TDD Fix
CtB WeiDuv160

to repeat: under no circumstances install these, or the old version of CtB. just dont go there.

17)Unfinished Business (without Valygar component)
18)The Following Mod Resurections:
Ajoc's MiniMod-WeiDuv16
Mordan's Xmas Modv1.0
Planar_Sphere_Return_v2WeiDu
The_Holy_Hand_Grenade_v1.0
19)Unusual Oddities Shop-v2.0
20)Underrepresented Itemsv5
21)MunchMod-v2.6

And Finally:
22)Banter Packv6
23)NPC Flirtv101
24)WorldMapv5

yep, these are all fine.

reply cont, as the forum software can only cope with 10 quotes per post...

Q3) As the Text Update(see#2) is from Baldurdash, is it needed or is it in the Baldurdash
components included in the BigPicture?
Q4) Is this the proper place(see#9) for the Kit Remover? I have no interest in playing a kit, but I understand
that there is a problem with the "Kit slots" being over-filled with this many mods being installed.

no baldurdash, not ever on a BP-BGT-NEJ install. the Kit Remover is only necessary if yr planning on installing a Kit for yr PC. none of the mods you list install PC-kits, so the Kit Remover isn't actually necessary.

There is a non-music version of the romance; do I need to use it instead?

the Immy Romance is fully compatible with BP-BGT-NEJ - it adds music in a non-game-breaking way, so you dont need to worry. v32 of Ease of Use is fine, as long as you follow Yazzuie's instructions about which components to install/ not install.

Q7) I would like to use the TOB Bhaal Powers mod; When should I install it?
Q8) Does anyone know about the Blackrose Marketprices quest mod; is it compatible; and when would I
install it?

i've never tried either, i dont think i even know what they are: id' be very suspicious about installing these.

Q11) Any additional mod recommendations to extend my game playtime? (though I probably have enough!)

i'd recommend the G3 Tweaks (any or all of the components, as you choose, except the Worldmap fix): the fix a lot of gameplay issues and tweak a lot of otherwise annoying things.

i'd also recommend DEFJAM, Sim's XP reducer. this installation will end up with CHARNAME having more XP than you know what to do with: even tho BP goes up to level 50, you'll still max out yr XP long before the final encounter with Melissan (which rather takes the challenge out of the game - nobody can script monsters tough enough to take you down under those circumstances). the XP reducer (ie, DEFJAM) is fully weidu'd, and gives you a range of XP reducing options, so i'd be recommending this too. install G3Tweaks and DEFJAM as yr last two mods (doesnt matter which of the two is the 'last' one, as long as they're after everything else).

edit: how cool is that: it merged my two replies, thus getting around the 10 quote-per-reply limitation!

Great advice so far everyone!

King Diamond:
Yes, I am using BPv161; I am following Yazzuie's pdf.
I'm using the ancient stuff because I never got a conclusive answer about BP-Weidu when I posted a question about it back in December http://www.shsforums...showtopic=18283

King Diamond & seanas
Paktu's List of what is compatible with BP says: "Check the Bodies - C (but not compatible with BP-BGT)". Has this been proven to be false? If so, I won't install CtB. Or perhaps I just need a different version. Also, I don't think I'm doing a BP-BGT install, I have the collector's ed SOA and the TOB expansion. Isn't BGT a different release?

seanas
G3Tweaks are listed by Paktu as being Incompatible. http://uk.geocities..../bpmodlist.html

As for the TOB Bhaal Powers Mod: perhaps I called it by the wrong name. The file is: BG2TOBDavidGaider'sBhaalPowers.zip.

"Bhaalpowers Addition allows the player to gain new abilities after completing each challenge in the Abyssal Pocket Plane that were originally planned; they abilities will appear under the "special ability" icon and which ones are received depend on the dialog with the Solar prior to each challenge. As David Gaider explained: "We originally had planned out some Bhaalspawn powers that the player would accumulate after doing the challenges in the pocket plane. It was scrapped because it was thought that these extra abilities plus all the high-level abilities would get too confusing. All of the abilities are still in the game, though, so it was minor scripting to add them back in for those people who would like to try them." As the abilities were originally by designer intention, and removed only because of possible confusion and not due to throwing off game balance, they can be called a 'tweak.' "

Summary of advice so far:
1)No Bonus disks
2)No Baldurdash components (except one's included in BP and related installs.)
3)Exnem's Vault v5.0 is WeiDu-change install position.
4)Use newer BP s_and_h patch
5)Do not install CtB (Please see above in this post and confirm)
6)No need for Kit Remover

Additional advice is greatly appreciated.

Bhallspawn powers were also included in Gaider's Ascension release. Which is hardwired right into BPv161. ;)

The old version of CtB was very buggy, that's why we recommend staying away.

what horred said: CtB in the form you'd need to install it (ie, not KD's new weidu version, which isnt comaptible with what yr planning to play) is just too buggy. it's not incompatible, as such, but it's going to cause you numerous crashes. stay well away. and that would be why i didnt know about the restored bhaalspwan powers: they're already in BP. wahey!

as for G3 Tweaks: looks like i'll have to update the compatibility list: G3 Tweaks is compatible with BP, except the first component 'worldmap fixes'. so the rest of G3 Tweaks can be installed, if you so choose.

25)DEFJAM (I'm still undecided about this one)

This one you really want if you plan to include BGT. Once your party is a high enough level, it doesn't matter so much if you get 10XP or 1000XP for learning a scroll. But when you are level 1, this can make you jump to level 2 without ever leaving Candlekeep.
