But how do I start the game? A year and a half ago, when I had SoS and just a few other mods, I used the SoS icon that was installed on my desktop. Now, I have a SoS and a TDD icon. Do I use either one of those, or something else?

Do you still have a BGII icon? If so, use that.
I don't recall those old icon sets working anyways. I'm glad they did for somebody...
