I installed iwdII from my daemon tools this afternoon and planed making it upgrade to version 2.01.But the patch can't find the installation of IWDII in my computer,so it did not work.

The much more worse is as some time as me complet building a new character and check the 'next' button,IWDII aborts and back to windows...

Could you offer some solution for these problems?

daemon tools is a visual cd-rom driver which allow us using .iso .cue or other mirror files as real disks,I don't have ?real? IWD II(Forgive me bacause I'm in china,it's hard to purchase legal American CD,as you konw),but there are its ISO files in my hardware,so i must use daemon tools or some visual cd-rom driver else to intall.

I think the installation was made this noon is very regular install,right?But it did't work,without sake....

I have played iwd2 from deamon tools and it worked good and i was able to patch it. Something wrong with your version of iwd2 maybe or are you using patch for another language version i.e for bg1 there are 3 different versions for uk, int and so on?

I took a look at my IWDII's readme,it's v2.0 and publicised in July 30th, 2002,does it match yours version?

By the way, when you installed this game, was there any "real" cd-rom in your computer? I means if the cd-rom data cable not be removed,a few kinds of game installed from daemon tools may cause truble...

Some news,I reinstalled it to my C:\,and there is no abortion for buliding a character,but upgrade patch does't work either.

It's probably because of your version of IWD being poorly cracked, like length of .exe file changed... If this is the case, try to patch IWD while it still has it's original .exe, if possible

I suppose it's not the case unfortunately...the original .exe is approximately 4.7M which lies on my IWDII and the cracked exe measured just 10KB.


Oh,there is an alternate method,proposed by my firend,it's said that "If I have the .reg about IWDII installation an immit it to the registerlist will make upgrade patch work"


Nowhere can I get .reg file unless some guys send it to my e-mail box,could you act this obliging man?

Not legally, he can't.

Happily, I don't care a sh*t about legality in such matters, but for the sake of forum's admins peace of mind let's shift this to PM. Throw me your mail there and I'll see what I can do

P.S. Are you sure you're lacking said registry entry? It's hard to believe that game could be so poorly cracked novadays as to loose it in the process...
