The content are as follows:

1 dvd - BG1, all locales
1 cd - TotSC, only English locale
1 dvd - SoA, all locales
1 cd - ToB, only English locale

ToB needs to be patched. apply the one related to your localization (or the English one if you want english texts). Sounds will be in your locale in SoA and in English in ToB.
If you do a full install, move {bg2}/italian/movies/movintro.bif in cd2/movies and {bg2}/italian/movies/movend.bif in cd4/movies. It may not be needed, but I had to do this after tweaking the .ini.

TotSC will not run on non-English systems. Simply download the International directX 8 patch and install it. Care not about this if you plan on using either Tutu or BGT.

Italian users: help test the Stivan NPC!

Author or Co-Author: WeiDU - Widescreen - Generalized Biffing - Refinements - TB#Tweaks - IWD2Tweaks - TB#Characters - Traify Tool - Some mods that I won't mention in public
Maintainer: Semi-Multi Clerics - Nalia Mod - Nvidia Fix
Code dumps: Detect custom secondary types - Stutter Investigator

If possible, send diffs, translations and other contributions using Git.

It's relieving to see that they're able to release a working compilation of a game, seven years after it was first released. (One thought there would have been enough time for testing, I mean.) :)

Heh.

Perhaps it was because I bought the English version of the game and have an Italian Windows, but still...

Also, all the multi-language part sucks. It's there in SoA but not in ToB, and you need manual tweaking to even be able to start SoA.

Still, getting both games at ~20$ is good enough to me.

Hi

I wanted to play the whole BG saga with BGT but I first need to get BG1 & TOSC. Amazon has BG The Original Saga and the 4-in-1 DVD compilation but they are both expensive ($50 & $70 respectively). But I have found a UK website that sells the 4-in-1 DVD set for a cheaper price.

The UK site says the BG compilation is compatible with the UK region and to check their help section to see what other countries are compatible as well. The problem is that I've looked all over their site and cannot find any information if the game is compatible with the US region.

I live in the US and was wondering if the UK version of the BG Compilation will work on my computer. Also, is it better to buy the Origianl Saga vs the DVD compilation in view of using BGT and other mods?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a few UK games that will work on my pc. As far as the type, I like the dvd better because it's less cds to deal with. The biggest problem you'll have with the UK one is some words will be spelled differently than a US one would be.

Thanks for the info, SaintZenn.

I take it you play with various mods intalled (most importantly BGT) and that you've not encountered any problems? I'm planning a mega mod install ala BWP.

I prefer BG Tutu to BGT. I always seem to have problems with mega mods. Especially BWP. I mostly stick to npc mods and class mods
