Hey all....
Long time player of BG II/ToB, but amazingly I just discovered SoS/TDD/TS. Of course, this got me thinking 'man I wish I could use all these together!'. One Google search later, I find out about BP. Giggity giggity giggity. Happy days. Now I know I'm a little behind the times, but I went with BP v161G and patch s_and_h v7. So far it seems ok. I know BP is up to like 177 but I'm not sure I'm ready to go through the pain upgrading much more just yet.

Anyway, here's my dilemma. There's a ton of new spells that come from (I think) TDD. I can look at the cleric and druid spells on their spell list and right click for a description, but what about the arcane spells? I've been looking for a list of the new arcane spells provided by TDD but no luck so far.......

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

You really should upgrade. The earlier combinaison is using very obsolete mods versions and is not supported anymore. The classic BP 161G and BP-WeiDU 177 are very different.

Sigh....I suppose you are right.

I don't suppose upgrading is as easy as downloading v177 and running the install?  I have a feeling that there is more involved, given that I'm coming from v161....

Thanks much for the link....I'm reading through the BP_Mega_Install_Instructions now.  My only fear so far is that the first two steps tell me to install BG1 and Tales of the Sword Coast, neither of which I own anymore.  Is it possible to proceed with the BP Mega Install instructions if I only have BG2 and ToB installed?

Again, thanks for the replies

It's not obligatory to have BG1 and install BGT, but you're missing a lot of great game content. ;)

Mostly what I wanted to get installed were the current versions of the 'Big 3': Sos, TDD and TS.  To be honest, I don't even know what RoT or CtB stand for.  The BP Mega install directions call for them and I've downloaded them, so I'm inclined to install them, but I'm wondering if not having Balder's Gate 1 or Tales of the Sword Coast installed impact them?  Also, Does Neverending Journey for BP require BG1 or TSC?  I've been doing searches to see if I can find the Mods that only need BG2 and ToB as opposed to requiring BG1 or TSC but I haven't had a tremendous amount of luck as of yet.

Somehow I've managed threadjack my own thread.....but this information is certainly more interesting than just talking about Arcane spell lists!

Thanks

At this moment, only BGT-WeiDU needs BG1 (for obvious reasons). NEJ may need BGT-WeiDU (and so BG1) in the future, but the current version does not.

Beware, ROT is a very recent addition and combinaison with other mods is still unstable. NEJ was not meant to be used with other mega-mods, but it is still possible. CTB is NOT compatible with NEJ so don't install the two mods at once.

You might want to stay with the classical TDD + SOS + TS + BP combinaison. Add CTB if you like.

Doh.  Whenever I try to run any of the setup programs for Baldurdash, SoS, TDD or TS I'm getting a nasty error that states

ERROR:  BIFF [./data/CBSOS_2DA.bif] cannot be loaded:  Unix.Unix_error(20, "stat", "./data/CBSOS_2DA.bif")

I'm not sure what BIFF is supposed to be doing but apparently mine isn't working :(

Has anyone seen this before?  I'm going to do a google search and see what I come up with, but I thought I'd try here, since here is most likely where the answer lies.

Any responses are appreciated!

have you previouly tried to install BP - maybe it failed or you started again? because CBSOS_2DA.bif is one of the things added to yr isntall by SoS, but other mods will only look for it if it's already installed - or if a remnant from yr previous install, such as yr old weidu.log, is still in yr BG2 directory.
