After reviewing many posts, I have not seen a difinative answer to: Can I add a new PC race?
Sub race is fine, I just would like to add either an Ogre (true race) or a Drow (sub-race). I am aware that there would be extensive dialog editing to the Drow since many of the dialogs in game would not recognize the race, but its my time, I can waste it if I want to.
Any thoughts on this? I immagine that writing the code for an actual new race would be improbable since one would have to add the Avatar at startup.

I know that at G3 there is a mod in progress: Land of Intrigue. They do some sub-race additions by adding some new screens to the UI, but I am not sure how they did this as it is still not released.
Sorry, not much help.

At CoM there was a mod being worked on that would allow the PC to be a Drow, with affected dialogues It seems to have vanished into oblivion but it is possible that its creator(fallen demon IIRC) yet has it. However he hasn't been around much recently.

There are actually two subrace mods, which are the only way to get around the hardcoding.
So it can be done, just not on the character creations screen.
