Good evening everyone :)

I just have a little question, and seeing as the people around here are a bottom-less pit of information... here I am with my question.

I was told somewhere that "rivvil" is the drow word for "human", but NWN's HotU's Chapter 2 kinda led me to believe that "rivvil" was used to name every sort of creature from the surface... So, is "rivvil" a title exclusive to humans, and if not, is there any place that has a list of race's titles? I just found a translator, but it will just translate what I write and not answer my questions the way someone around here is surely going to :) Plus, if "rivvil" is exclusive to humans, how come the Seer calls me "rivvil" no matter if my PC is human, elf, halfling or gnome!? Another NWN failure?

My answer is this: if, listening to that music, you don't get that overwhelming rush of power that makes the hair stand at the back of your neck, you may never will. But you know what, it doesn't really matter. Because, judging from the 40 000 people around me, we're doing just fine without ya." :) Cheers! And two horns up for metalheads all around the world!

I think "rivvil" really means "human". Even in HoU, at start, if you have an elf protagonist, you have a dream of the drow queen. She is calling you "darthirii", which means "elf".

I don't know which translator you are using, but this one seems to be good.

(this translator translate "surfacer" to "kivvil", which is maybe the term you are looking for).

I'm going to agree with most of what Anomaly said.

But I'll add Gnomes are either Jlha'zen or yingil. Halfling=Sakphul Dwarf=Hargluk.

As for darthirii. Literally translated I believe it means faeries, as that is what the Drow call surface elves in RA Salvatore's books.

As for Rivvil/Kivvil, it is possible that Rivvil is used for all surfacers and that the translating site is incorrect. It is afterall fanmade as far as I can tell.

Hey guys,

thanks a lot. Seeing as the Seer calls you "rivvil", but in the editor I can see it's supposed to be a customizable word regarding race, and I do remember the Valsharess calling my PC "darthirii" (although I thought it was darthiir?), I'll change my "rivvil" for "darthirii"... Eh. Thanks for the info :)

here is a second word for surfacer in drow. Iblith. but it also means excetion of bodily fluids...soooo that is not really a polite thing to be called.
Steel is my body, fire is my blood.
I've created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death.
Nor known to life.
Have withstood pain to create many weapons.
Yet, those hands will never hold anything.
So as i pray, "Unlimited Blade Works."--Archer from Fate/Stay Night
