Is it possible to import areas from Planescape: Torment to BG2 with DLTCEP? If so are there any tircks I should know about?
I was looking at some of the area tiles on BlackWyrm and thought they looked 'nifty'. I am hesitant to by that game if the transfer of areas is tedious and involved.
I have seen some areas from PST in BG2 mods, but do not know how much work went into them.

You should be able to import the area fairly easily though you will have to do work removing creatures, ambients etc and possibly fixing some of the checks DLTCEP throws up.
Don't forget to change the version when saving so it saves as a BG2 type. Not sure if wallgroups etc get converted properly but you can always rebuild those.

In all truth it's probably faster to dump the bitmap out using DLTCEP and then build the area from scratch. If you go for 'import', you'll be removing just about everything except the wallgroups (as Rabain says). By the time you've finished the removals and tested that it hasn't screwed anything else up, you would almost certainly have finished new wallgroups a long time previously.

I have poor luck with DLTCEP, I only use to to export the raw file, then I will use NI and other programs to change the creatures in the area.
Thanks for the info, though, I will be scouring eBay for a good deal.
