That's no class. Though I have heard several complaints about overhigh requirements. Perhaps that could be discussed.

I chose ranger. I love that class. you can fight well, and sneek well. I tend to make an archer out of my elven ranger.
Steel is my body, fire is my blood.
I've created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death.
Nor known to life.
Have withstood pain to create many weapons.
Yet, those hands will never hold anything.
So as i pray, "Unlimited Blade Works."--Archer from Fate/Stay Night

I voted bard-it's a very versatile, useful class that complements virtually any party composition, and does wonderfully for a wide and wierd assortment of skills. A little lacking in raw power, perhaps, but always good to have around.

Same as ever - Sorcerer. I just like blasting things, and sorcerers are unequalled when it comes to that. Also, if you know how to pick your spells, they've got as much defense as your best tank. They're not all that powerful on lower-level, but on high level they pack more punch than an entire team of fighters.

I voted Sorcerer, too. Mainly because it's the only class I've tried so far. :P

Am rather interested in creating a warlock, though. Anyone attempted to play one of those and lived to tell the tale?

Me. Though I admit, he's yet to leave West Harbor.

Yep. Did a halfling warlock once-not the most powerful class in the world, but enjoyable nevertheless. Spamming brimstone and vitriolic chain/doom won me through the endgame without much of a hassle.

A warlock might be a caster, but he seems to have the opposite going on from other casters - in the early til mid-early levels, the class is a powerhouse: good damage output, can hit virtually anything, and nice secondary effects. Later on, however, their lack of a decent area attack (Eldritch Doom comes way too late, covers only 20 feet, and blasts allies) and general lack of versatility gets the better of them. IMO, they're just not optimal for the OC, where resting is so plentiful and easy their main advantage - unlimited spells/day - is lost. Worse, their most impressive power after Eldritch Doom (the one that turns the blasts into negative energy and drains levels) doesn't work on the enemies you'll be facing by then - undead.

I really like clerics myself, though my first run through was with a fighter/wizard/eldrith knight. Partly it's because I never get to play them in PnP gaming sessions, so I want to try something different when on the PC. But they are also an powerhouse class able to do nearly anything - you fight well, have excellent spells, can heal better than anyone else, and there's some very effective options. In nearly any situation there's something you can do, which isn't always the case for some classes, and the biggest problem is figuring out which of your options is going to be most effective. There's really no weak levels either, as you find with sorcerers/wizards at low level and most warriors at high level.

And of course late on most of your enemies are undead and they make a lovely sound when your turn attempts make them explode :D

Back from the brink.

Like RPGs? Like Star Wars? Think combining the two would be fun? Read Darths and Droids, and discover the line "Jar Jar, you're a genius".

These, in the day when heaven was falling,
The hour when earth's foundations fled,
Followed their mercenary calling
And took their wages and are dead.

Sorceror for me as well though she is still in Neverwinter. Not sure if she's going to make it out of there but she's surviving at least.

Ranger. Because I like playing rangers. And the ARcaine Archer PC is a great way to update them :) I'd consider Brdic build for a RDD if I ever run the game the second time, though I doubt I would. I'd rather build a mod.

I've always been a lover of Clerics and Sorcerers. Wizards got a good boost when moving to 3rd ed to compete with the Sorcerer. Bards got a good boost too, which made them more fun. Warlocks are pretty fun too though.

Wizard.

The number of undead, constructs and demons in the game (2/3 of all enemies) renders a rogue type character's sneak-attack almost useless. :(

The fighter/archer type character's is also crippled by the aforementioned creatures' immunity to critical hits (not to mention the poison/level drain effects). <_<

Out of the caster types, the wizard is most versatile: (Damages better than a warlock, summons as well as a druid, causes mayhem as well as a sorcerer, supports like a bard (haste has a mass effect)) the only thing a wizard cannot do is healing, of course this disadvantage is lessened and the advantages are compounded by the low restrictions on resting. -_-

Besides, I like collecting spell scrolls, it's the only thing keeping me going in the latter half of the game. :P

I'm voting cleric due to my new character. Check out the CC(Current Character) thread to see who I'm talking about.
