I know this probably isn't the place to turn for help on Jade Empire, but 1) I noticed that people at these forums are playing it and 2), so many of you guys are brilliant about this kind of thing! And so, I turn to you in desperation.

Anyway, I sought help at the "Self help" forums at Bioware's website, and was completely ignored. I sent in a request for official help at Take2Games and have been completely ignored for three days now, though I was was supposed to get a response within 24 hours.

What does it mean when an error log says that the game failed because the system cannot find the path specified? Let me show you the latest error log so you can see what I mean. This has been happening nearly every 5 minutes as I play the game, and it really is a show stopper, and if what has been posted at the forums is any indication, this happens to a LOT of people with all sorts of different setups on their systems, different graphics cards, different amounts of RAM, etc. The Dialog.tlk file is not located in a folder called "English", it is located directly in the Jade Empire folder. As for the DialogF.tlk, no such file seems to exist in the Jade Empire folder or any of its subfolders. Anyway, here is the error log and thank you to anyone who can help me with this!

Quick Edit: I would like to add that completley disabling sound seems to make the problem go away, but I have NO desire to play without sound. Thanks again.

Well, I think I figured out how to fix the failures due to missing Dialog.tlk files. It seems that the Installation CD is really mainly a bunch of rar files and for some reason, the language folders are not being extracted for some people when they install the game. So to fix this, I opened up my installation CD by right clicking and choosing "explore", I went into the "Data" folder and dragged the "English" rar file onto my desktop, then I unzipped it onto my desktop and moved the newly unzipped English folder into my Jade Empire folder. Now I no longer get the failure error, but I am still getting sound stuttering and the game is still freezing up. ::Sigh:: I wonder if there is some sort of incompatibility with the soundcard.
