Is it possible to render a NPC unable to use potions to heal?

I'm working on a mod idea for a NPC who has limited regeneration and can't "die" (think 'troll' but without acid and fire)but at the same time is unable to use potions to heal himself.

Why not make him immune to necromancy(spell immunity) as you couldn't heal him with healing spells, I don't know what this does for potions though. You have got to try.

Deactivated account. The user today is known as The Imp.

Good idea but it would be a good thing as well as a bad because a number of attack spells are necromancy.

A week and a half late, but...

... does the Protection from Specific Spell opcode (0xCE) affect items (e.g. POTN02)? I'm pretty sure its equivalent in IWD2 does. Not equip and combat effects, but spell-like effect headers at least.

It's been months since I last played IWD2, but I think that's how it works there. It might be the same in BG2.
