I've just recently stumbled onto this incredible modding community, and have tried several on my unpatched bg2 game. I havent encountered any major issues until attempting to expand it into BG1. I have to admit, I always had problems getting into BG1 with it's almost decade old gameplay, but with BGT and all the other mods I've put in, I was friggin awestruck by the revamped and oh so pretty new game at my fingertips, y'all have done an amazing job.

However, without this patch I'm reduced to meandering aimlessly about Candlekeep with my blinged up Moinesse guy, quicksaving and reloading again and again trying to talk to .... well poop. Everybody. And all thats happening is apparantly they're too busy sitting on their hands, amd shining elven arses and all sorts of other whatnot to talk to lil ol me, and aid me on my quest to god'dom, continuously until i just say fudge it, SUMMON MY GOD-SWORD THINGY AND GO ON A GTA-ESQUE SLAUGHTER! YEEEEEARRRRG!

Now, I'm not really sure what could be done here, as I'm two steps away from thinking of computers in terms of magic wonder boxes, but is it possible to copy and share the complete file? Whenever I try to extract the files, everything goes well but the setup.exe application. Is this a needed component or is there a way to manually install this?

Is the TOB patch just for the TOB expansion or for all of BG2, because the SOA patch is giving me problems with extraction though i never went through it and checked which individual peice was bein evil. Please please help me? :crying:

do you have only SoA ot ToB as well? In the first case, you should only install this patch, in the second - only this

I apologize if I was a bit vague in my explanation. I have a full install of BG1, TotSC, BG2 and TOB, along with the full patch for BG1. I've also installed BGT without any BG2 bioware patch, because whenever i attempt to extract the downloaded zip file, i can take out everything but the setup.exe application.

I've deleted the files and redownloaded them twice, which did'nt help, as well as trying the original BG2 patch which ended up being all funkified too. :wall:

I'm able to play the game, but to talk to anyone as I said I generally have to quick save and reload up to 5 times, and if there is another way to fix this other than the bioware patch, please let me know as I personally havent been able to find any solutions to this.

Now I have'nt yet lost hope because I happen to be a software dumbanus  , but if my only option is to slug my way through reloads until some mystical fix pops up in the patch please let me know.

ToB patch is an absolute must have for you. I don't understand why are you talking about .zip, when Bioware patch is an .exe. Also, in order to get things right, you now have to uninstall BG2, delete its folder, and install it anew (soa+tob). Then use bioware ToB patch.
(then you'd better install bg2fixpack with its hotfixes, OR baldurdash. Then install BGT.)

And then there is the fact that you have to install the BG1TotSC patch to the BG1+BG1TotSC game before installing the BGT.

Also, in order to get things right, you now have to uninstall BG2, delete its folder, and install it anew (soa+tob). Then use bioware ToB patch.

Unless the BG2:SoA + BG2:ToB is the three cd version, which has the patch(BG2:ToB) already applied when installing.

it is said in the 3rd post that bg1 is patched.

I didn't know such a version existed. Do you know who is the publisher? and where I could look for downloading it?)

Alright, I'm going to uninstall everything, then reinstall the games, the first patch, and then attempt to redownload the TOB patch.

I apologize folks, either it's been cleared up or this was a false alarm. I've been saving and extracting all downloaded files, which I'm supposing fuddled the patch. Everything's been installed in order, and it seems to be working perfectly.

Again I apologize for jumping to conclusions and the melodramatic alarm, and thanks both of yall for your patience.

It's the Limited Edition version of the game, and so only a few countries have it, and it's not actually Bioware product, if I remember correctly...
