..." (and a bit more)

Then ugh. Just discovered this issue testing for version 3.0. The problem is unfortunately -caused- by doing a clean install, heh.

What happens is that, for some odd reason, if the very first (well, actually, the second, but never mind) string added to the dialog.tlk file - in other words, strref 106498 - has a sound file attached, then your party members will start playing that sound file as part of their voice-only occasional banters.

And unfortunately, if you're doing a clean install, and then add the Fixpack, then the Subtitled Cutscenes component, that's -exactly- what happens. Sigh.

The future version will add a couple placeholder lines without a sound file attached to make sure that strref 106498 doesn't get a sound file.

Until then, unfortunately, uninstalling the subtitled cutscenes component won't stop the problem. You can either remove the sound file from strref 106498 if you know how, or otherwise, you need to uninstall all the mods, somehow restore the original dialog.tlk and dialogf.tlk (reinstall the game if you need to), and then reinstall in a different order. Say, do the Fixpack, then Unfinished Business, and -then- the Subtitled Cutscenes component. I tested that and it works fine, you won't get a sound file in that one critical strref location.

Sorry for the problem. I and a couple of other people are doing a full test run through of the upcoming release, so issues like this should all be taken care of by the time it comes out.
