Ok, so I installed BWP a while ago and it worked fine; I just got a new PC so I need to install it again. I just completed BG so I don't want to play through it again so I am trying to just do a SoA install.

So I have a full install in C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA (I have Vista). I run BGII and make a save in SoA and ToB. I run BWS and choose what mods I want and so on; they all install and extract fine.

The problem starts when the dos Weidu setup thing gets run. I choose my language and press enter and it says:

"There is no folder "BGII - SoA" in this directory. It is important that this folder etc. etc."

I close that dos window and run Big World Install.bat again and this time it says:

The file 25movies.bif is missing in your BGII - SoA....

Please make sure that you have installed the extension...

The Bioware Patch 26498 is not yet installed...

I cut the second sentence out of each line but I think that's enough.

So basically... what is my problem here? Is it because I am doing a SoA install only or .... what?

Do you run SoA only with ToB? You gave two answers to that question.

If you did not install ToB, then cannot run the batch-installer from the BiG World. Too many mods depend on ToB, so I think you would not like the result.

If you did install ToB, make sure the file CD5\movies\25Movies.bif exists. If not, copy it from your CD/DVD.
Also be aware that the BWS will detect it if you specified a diffrent path in your baldur.ini than the "current" one/the folder you are using at the moment.
Create the textfile BG2-ToBPatchReadMe.txt to prevent the patch-issue. The BWS is able to check your version by another way than the batch-installer, so it does not require the textfile for validation.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Ah my bad; I just realised I was running ...Install.bat from C:\Games\Black Isle instead of C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA - problem solved now.

Thanks for your reply anyway dabus :).

No you don't need to install the things again, as you can copy the whole game directory to the same exact place it was in computer 1 to computer 2, and then just start the game from the BGMain.exe... I would suggest to use WinRAR to package it to 700MB's partion and then move them to an 1Gb USB device, and after the move is over, unpack the whole thing and you have a playable game ready.
