mac near infinity won't save properly...please help

I am trying to override the alignment change that takes place in the final stage of BG2: SoA. I am running near infinity on a mac, and after I have made the alignment change in near infinity and save the changes to the savegame file, the file becomes corrupt. Any help on how I could effectively alter my pc's alignment back to its original would be greatly appreciated.

I am also open to any other means to change a pc's alignment in BG@ on a mac...
