Just thought I'd mention - I shelled out the $5 for it for the download, despite a bunch of negative reviews, and personally I liked it. Was worth $5, anyway. It does have something the rest of the game doesn't - a real challenge. Don't expect it to be consistent, some of the missions are absurdly easy (I actually maxed out the clock at 100 minutes on my first survival mission, you need to survive like 2 minutes to actually win it) but others can take hours to win.
One of the nice things is it gives you a "home base" to work from other than the Citadel. If you expect to play the game through again before ME2, then I definitely recommend it. But if you've already got your save games set and ready waiting for ME2... well, it's still additional fun for a few hours anyway.

I liked it as well. I agree about the consistency of the missions, but all-in-all, I thought it was an interesting addition to game.
I'm wondering how the missions scale to difficulty, though. Do the enemies get easier/harder, or do the counts/time limits get lower? I've only played Pinnacle Station with my Insanity Soldier, and thought the challenge was about right.
As for the ultimate reward... I like. The grenade boxes are useful (just like they were in Bring Down the Sky), but the best part is the "gambling" option it gives you--similar to Diablo II, in a way. You pay a specific price and get an unknown item in return. Finally something you can spend your credits on.
