I am not sure what is going on
- am I not supposed to be able to skip cutscenes after installing BGT?
- am I not allowed to use custom portraits, why do I get question mark?

edit: BG2 is installed into F:\bg2 and BG1 into E:\bg1. During BGT installation everything went fine without errors.

As I guessed! Now I can skip cutscenes if I select new game. Weird that this all would depend on existing save file(s).

It doesn't, the cut scenes are ment to be seen, and so when you haven't played the game so that you have seen <set cut scene>, you cannot skip it the first time it's shown, the second time it's shown... you can skip it because it's saved into the baldur.ini file that it's shown and can be seen in the movie player.

The portrait file that's a question mark is that because the game cannot show it in the form it's in you portrait folder... it needs to have the set dimentions, and it needs to be in set format(was it .bmp, can't remember).

No, the portraits are all in correct size and in correct format. I got them magically working after saving game for a first time.
