Ok, I keep go on my quest of knowledges about all BWP install instructions.

At THE BIG BG2 MODS/4.1.1 a comment says that "The Darkest Day v1.14;TDD requires the worldmap file to be already extracted otherwise installation does not progress at all." .
What this really means?
a/ install BP-BGT-Worldmap mod before Tactics?
b/ only extract (i.e. unrar) BP-BGT-Worldmap mod in BG2 folder, then install Tactics?

a/ seems very weird
b/ means that Tactics checks for the presence of BP-BGT-Worldmap.mod; and what if after Tactics, we do not install Tactics? This solution seems ackward but possible (probably for technical reason)...

=> So we just have to uncompress BP-BGT-Worldmap.mod in BG2 folder before Tactics.
The instructions should be:
- extract BP-BGT-Worldmap.mod in BG2 folder // must be done before Tactics installation
- install Tactics // requires BP-BGT-Worldmap.mod
- ...
- install BP-BGT-Worldmap.mod

Am I right?
It may be stupid but I want to clear each instruction :)

OK: it's not "Tactics" but => TDD <= //my fault

For the BiG World Fixpack to actually work, the mods all need to be extracted to the game folder, before the installation is run... so if the question was

b/ only extract (i.e. unrar) BP-BGT-Worldmap mod in BG2 folder, then install TDD?

Then the answer is a "B" to that question of yours.
But why are you asking, and not just making the whole entire thing with BiG Wolrd Setup ?

Besides this has nothing to do with any "Tactics"... The only Tactics label that the BWP/BWS has is a Tactical Install Compilation, and that's a sum of mods, not just one... and if you do this manually, you need to extract the mods from that compilation to your game folder (with the other mods from the other compilations except the 'Expert' as the BiG World Install.bat's Tactical install won't install the eXpert mods), and then run the said .bat file

Thanks for your confirmation.

For your question, I made a tool allowing to customize more finely (than BWP Setup) an install, more "user friendly" (comprehension --i.e. no hidden stuff--, selection, modification, constraint, etc.). It's working fine, so I am making a real sample of an install to show all its features.
I should publish it the Tools part asap.

By the way, if you want to be a beta tester? or anyone else of course :)

Does that include the BWS Beta ? Which is a bit more advanced in a few aspects, which include the component chooser, the remade install procedure etc. , than the regular one...

At least I look at the BWS Beta, it is awesome :) => good job for the big team.

I made many tools with nearly the same features (without the download part but with constraints edition, syntaxic color, preview of batch file).
I nearly publish the last version here but my boss didn't allow me to hum-hum... get it out of the office.

Anyway I made --at home this time :)-- another simplier one within a week. Its feature is not exactly the same as BWS Beta (mainly download + customization + monitoring), the purpose of my tool is focused on high customization.

Hmm, the beta has it's high level of customization too, you can select the mods, their components... if you select the "Further customization of your mod-settings", which gives you the exact basic install tree, you can then save the settings, so the basic BWS updates won't touch that with the Import Export fuction. And if you know how to diff two text files, you can actually make your new based on the BWSes new and the old saved version.
You can customize to downloading and extractions by setting the links and file sizes...

If you can code in AutoIt3 and you'd like to do so, feel free to adept/customize the BWS and publish it. (That's why it's GPL'd).
Hmm, the beta should mark new stuff with a [N].

@Jarno Mikkola: "high" customzation for me include adding your own mod/components (ex: Shadowlich v1/MyComponent), your own commands (ex: xcopy myFile BG2/override) and your own constraints (ex: TDD REQUIRES Worldmap). So I could have many constraints to build a "secure install", here a sample of the result:
. Shadowlich v1-0-Shadowlich's Customization [ REQUIRES ] Saerileth-0
. One Pixel Productions v2.7-0-v2 Everything but Potions(1) should be [ BEFORE ] Item_Rev---This comp is mostly included in Item Revisions, in no case install it after Item Revisions!
. Item Revisions v2-0-Item revisions by Demivrgvs [ REQUIRES ] Shadowlich-0-Preserve Celestial Fury and Carsomyr from Item_Rev downgrade
. The Darkest Day v1.14-0-The Darkest Day, v1.14 [ REQUIRES ] InfinityBuilder-7-Extract Worldmap for TDD
. Tortured Souls TS-BP v6.10-0-Tortured Souls v6.10 (BP compatible version) REQUIRES BWPFixpack-0-BWPFixpack for TS
. Ajoc's Minimod v1.6.5-0-AjocMod WeiDU v1.5 REQUIRES TDD
. SpellPackB5-0-Spell Pack (Core Files and Graphics) [ CONFLICTS ] spell_rev
. Item Revisions v2-18-Backstabbing Penalties Only [ should be BEFORE ] Item Revisions v2
. Improved Summons v2.03-0-Improved Angelic Summons(Tob Required) [ should be AFTER ] Tactics
! FAILED: One Pixel Productions v2.7-2-v3 Flame Swords (3) [ CONFLICTS ] Item_Rev
. One Pixel Productions v2.7-3-v3 Flame Short Swords (4) [ should be AFTER ] Item_Rev
. 1pp: Thieves Galores v1.1-1-BGII - Unique Thief Avatars (patch) [ REQUIRES ] 1pp_thieves_galore-2-BGII - Unique Thief Avatars (patch)
and so on... This is why I am digging every instruction in BWP => to turn them into constraints once and for all.

@dabus: I know a little of AutoIt3 (used it for some game as WoW -- don't ask why, and others private jobs), but I am better with Delphi/C#/Cpp. If my tool fails, I'll probably try a BWP customization... For now my main purpose is to play BG2 asap :)

Read the BiG World Setup\Docs\FAQ.htm. This will tell you how to integrate new stuff.
