Just reinstalled the whole BWP again, with updated mods.

The "Mod-added Fiends are not affected" option of aTweaks' PnP Fiends component did not install due to errors. This message came up:

[atweaks/lib/c150.tpa] PARSE ERROR at line 2005 column 1-27
Near Text: BEGIN
GLR parse error

[atweaks/lib/c150.tpa] ERROR at line 2005 column 1-27

ERROR: parsing [atweaks/lib/c150.tpa]: Parsing.Parse_error
Stopping installation because of error.

ERROR Installing [Mod-added fiends are not affected], rolling back to previous state
[aTweaks/BACKUP/150/UNSETSTR.150] SET_STRING uninstall info not found
Will uninstall 264 files for [ATWEAKS/SETUP-ATWEAKS.TP2] component 150.

The following component, "Allow Breach to take down Stoneskin effects applied by items", was installed with warnings: I assume it's because of the failed intallation of the previous component.

Here are the WeiDU log and debug file.

Should I also put this topic on the aTweak mod forum?

Thanks.

UPDATE: Turns out the issue is that the install process uses WeiDU version 227 instead of 229 for some obscure reason.

You need WeiDU 229 to install the latest version of aTweaks.

That's strange... I had WeiDU 229 previously downloaded (and still, the setup didn't detect it the first time around, so it downloaded it again), but viewing the debug file, it shows WeiDU 227.

So I guess THAT's the actual problem I have right now. I'll see what I can do about it: tried another install earlier today with same result. Probably had 227 only there too.

Just tried a third attempt, then interrupted the install when I saw that WeiDU 22700 was being installed/used.

I've checked and I have the correct version of WeiDU downloaded and I made sure that the .exe was the right one as well before initiating installation.

Checking after the interrupted installation, I see that this .exe has changed: smaller file size; last modified in January.

So my guess is that one of the mods I intend to install is responsible, somehow replacing the WeiDU.exe with its own, a 227 version.

I didn't notice which one it could be, though, and I do not have anything relevent in the existing debug files and WeiDU log.

I'll be making further tests to find out more.

Update: Realm of the Bhaalspawn Armor Set is a suspect. See its debug file attached.

In the meantime, any insight is appreciated.

Thanks

Tested a fourth installation to find out where I stopped last time.

It's near the beginning of the installation, after files are "processed".

Here's the segment that I found suspicious:

Next, the zeroed offsets in all cre files will be replaced.

[WeiDU.exe] WeiDU version 22700
[WeiDU.exe] Using scripting style BG2

Any ideas?

Could it have something to do with the BWP Fixpack 9.8.1?

I'm gonna try a new install with the latest 9.9 version of BWP in hopes that the issue won't surface this time.

Crossing fingers...

Any insights are still appreciated!

The BWP install bat 'helpfully' downgrades your WeiDU.exe.

Ah, the irony!

Hopefully, it's solved now.

The issue seems to be solved in 9.9, but something else came up.

See the "What the...?!? er...Help?" topic.
