Ok, I've just went to bookmarked "BiG World Projekt Linkliste" thread there to locate certain mod for a person asking for it in a next thread here... well, at least I tried to, because all of sudden I've got some crappy "403 FORBIDDEN!" with a moronic reason of "The detected reason(s) you were blocked are: RBN. -> rmatch("mtu-net.ru"). ". WTF people? I'm annoyed by spambots too, but really, aren't there a tiny little bit less braindead way to deal with them than blocking one of russia's largest providers for good? :wall:

I wonder if BWS Setup Beta will ever work for me from now on <_<

Surely, this is some security issue with the hosting provider of Kerzenburg, not the website itself.

Sorry to hear about that Creepin. I can see that if an ISP doesn't respond about hackers using that ISP then the whole ISP may be banned. A friend of mine lost a lot to some Turkish hackers and in the 90's I had some trouble with hackers with a business I had. People feel safe behind the net and in other countries, but as time goes on there will be repercussions.

@ Creepin:

Greetings.

I am the site owner and administrator of Kerzenburg.Baldurs-Gate.eu.

I came to know about this issue.
Unfortunately, I am not sure if I can do anything about it.
If an ISP decides to block another ISP due to spam activities, they won't be willing to discuss the matter, I'm afraid.
And honestly speaking, I can understand this attitude: Why open a firewall for the interest of few users and simultaneosely accept enabling spam activities against many?

I am not able to object against the blocking at my ISP.
More effective might be if you object to your ISP to manage spam activities from his IP range. Appeal to its bad reputation as an ISP who tolerates spam activities.
If your ISP reacts, its reputation might increase, and other ISPs might open their firewalls again.

Sorry that I am not able to help you with this issue.

Sir Darian, thanks for your clarification. I was sure that banning certain ISP was site owner's initiative so I'm glad to know that people from Kerzenburg.Baldurs-Gate.eu has nothing to do with this foul issue. :)

As for ISPs wars, I don't believe it properly belongs to this forum. Kerzenburg is still easily available for me via proxy, the only things that worries me is if BWS Setup Beta will need access to this site to update it's links. Don't have it installed at the moment but guess I'll find out soon.

Maybe someone here can help dabus implement proxy support?

The beta fetches updates from bwp.bplaced.net because the update-method was rewritten and thus is not compatible with the standard one.

@ Creepin:

To be honest, I do protect my forum indeed on my own as well.

We use a vBulletin plugin using the Stop Forum Spam database.
But I am sure that this plugin only blocks well known spammers, email adresses for forum registration, and single IP adresses, but not whole ISPs.
If you want to know how it works, read along here:

If there should occur any inconvenience I have to apologize.
